The European Poker Tour Season 10 Player of the Year race is on, and as you know players will be able to accumulate points in all events throughout Season 10, regardless of the buy-in level. In addition, all of the Festival Events (Estrellas, UKIPT, Eureka, FPS, IPT) that combine with an EPT tour stop will be eligible for Player of the Year points. The winner of this season’s award will walk away with €50,000 in Main Event buy-ins, good for any PokerStars or Full Tilt sponsored event.
The Global Poker Index (GPI) points formula, which will be used to determine the EPT10 POY, is a bit complicated, but you can read about all the details here.

Martin Kozlov opened to 40,000 from under the gun, Georgios Karakousis three-bet to 75,000 from the cutoff, and Ludovic Geilich cold four-bet to 212,000 out of the small blind. Kozlov tank-folded, and Karakousis shifted in his seat before folding as well.

Etayo seemed a bit confused but after 20 seconds he put in the call after which Rossiter immediately turned over 
for a full house. Etayo mucked in frustration as Rossiter is now one of the big stacks in the room.

Georgios Karakousis opened to 40,000 from early position, Tudor Purice three-bet to 104,000 on the button, and the action folded back to Karakousis, who called.

Purice needed a diamond to survive and he received the 
on the river, but it gave Karakousis fours full of eights. Purice was eliminated, while Karakousis is up over 2.2 million.
As Karakousis' action on the flop demonstrates, the check-raise often represents strength. Here Karakousis check-raised with a set of fours, earning a call from Purice and keeping him interested in the hand going forward. Then after Purice picked up the nut flush draw on the turn, he was ready to risk his tournament life and Karakaousis' hand ultimately remained best.
