Mike Ross Wins a Big Pot

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Mike Ross: {3-}{8-} / {a-}{9-}{6-}{2-} / {7-}
Player 2: {7-}{8-} / {3-}{a-}{a-}{j-} / {x-}
Player 3: {3-}{2-} / {2-}{7-}{7-}{6-} / {4-}
Player 4: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{j-} - fold

After a complete, Mike Ross raised on third street, and all three players called.

Mike Matusow decided that Player 4 was going to win the hand. On fourth street, though, he was the only player to brick.

"Good one, Mike," Matusow said to himself, "I gotta pick a new winner now." When someone suggested he pick Ross, he declined. "I don't want to put the whammy on my friend."

Player 2 bet, and Ross raised before Player 3 called, and Player 4 folded. Player 2 then called.

"Kings for everybody," Ross said. "Let's see how that goes."

Player 2 hit an ace and paired.

"There's a king," Ross said.

Ross hit a nine.

"There's a king."

Player 3 hit a seven and paired.

"There's a king."

Ross bet, and Player 3 raised. Player 2 called for less, and Ross re-raised. Player 3 called for less, as well.

The players revealed their hands. Player 3 was drawing to a seven and made it, showing {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. Ross was also drawing and hit a better seven {7-}{6-}{3-}{2-}{a-} to win the pot, while Player 2 was drawing dead.

Ross collected the pot while two players headed to the rail.

A Perplexed Jon Turner Lets His Hand Go

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Turner: {x-}{x-} / {A-}{K-}{Q-}{9-} - fold
Player 1: {x-}{x-} / {3-}{2-}{2-}{6-} / {x-}
Player 2: {x-}{x-} / {A-}{9-}{Q-}{Q-} / {x-}

"Low card, paint, paint," Player 1 chanted at the dealer on fourth street. His wishes were almost granted, when he received a {2-} and Jon Turner picked up a {K-}. The other player in the hand received a {9-}. Player 1 bet, and Turner called, as did the other player in the hand.

"Low card, paint, paint," the player chanted again. This time he received a low card again, but also a pair. The second player decided to lead out this time and, both players called.

On sixth street, Turner made a confused face. He looked around the table. "Oh," he said. "I have the betting lead?"

He did, and for a while it almost looked as if he was going to put chips into the pot. He opted to check, though, then fold to a bet from Player 1. The second player in the hand called the bet, then another bet on seventh. Player 1 showed {A-}{4-}{K-} for a sixty-four low, and he took down the pot. Turner saw the hand and nodded, and his face turned from confusion to understanding.

"That's about the best hand you can turn up there," he said.

Mike Matusow Punishing Himself

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante
Mike Matusow from a previous event
Mike Matusow from a previous event

Mike Matusow just busted from the $3,000 No-Limit Hold'em event and headed over to the other side of the Amazon Room to hop into the $1,500 Razz field.

"I had a classic 2005 Mike Matusow blowup," he said.

He explained the details of the hand that sent him to the rail. He called a check-raise and a river bet against an opponent with three nines.

"So now, I can either go home to my girl, who's going to be mad at me, or I can play razz and torture myself."

After a minute, tablemate Mike Ross started singing to the tune of "Piano Man" by Billy Joel. "Aaaaand Matusow blew up in the $3k," Ross sang.

Matusow joined in with his arms outstretched: "Anybody that choose to play this game, doesn't like their life."

Matusow currently has just under 10,000 chips.

Big Scoop For Anderson Puts Him Among Early Chip Leaders

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Anderson: {x-}{x-} / {6-}{8-}{8-}{A-} / {x-}
Opponent 1: {x-}{x-} / {A-}{J-}{4-}{5-} / {x-}
Opponent 2: {x-}{x-} / {5-}{10-}{8-}{10-} - fold
All-In Player: {x-}{x-} / {2-}{4-}{7-}{k-} / {x-}

On fourth street, with one player already all in, the betting lead was passed to Calvin Anderson, and he bet. Both of his opponents called. On fifth street, all three players checked. On sixth, Anderson bet, and only one player called. On seventh street, Anderson's opponent bet, Anderson raised, and the player called.

Anderson showed {4-}{3-}{2-} for a sixty-four low, and his opponent made a face and showed {8-}{7-}{4-} for an eighty-seven. The all-in player wasn't able to muster a winning hand, either, so Anderson scooped the pot.

Jason Mercier Has Got Him Crushed

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Jason Mercier just came from behind to eliminate his opponent and send him to the rail.

When the two got all in, his opponent had a made seven, {7-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, and Mercier had a draw to a six, {6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} with a high card.

"You got me crushed," said his opponent.

"What? You're ahead," Mercier responded.

At that moment, Mercier got dealt a five to give him a six-low and leave his opponent drawing thin. Mercier went on to win the hand and couldn't help but laugh at the way it played out.

Leah With an Early Monstrous Stack

Nível 5 : 300/600, 75 ante
Mike Leah
Mike Leah

Mike Leah has very quickly amassed a monstrous stack here in Event #69. He has already more than quadrupled what he began with here on Day 1. Leah took on two opponents in the most recent pot.

Leah: {x-}{x-} / {4-}{A-}{2-}{3-}
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {A-}{9-}{5-}{Q-} - fold
Opponent 2: {x-}{x-} / {7-}{2-}{2-} - fold

One player completed and was called by a second player and Mike Leah. On fourth street, Leah bet and was called by the original completer. The player holding {7-}{2-} raised before Leah made it three bets to play. Both players called, bringing them to fifth street. On fifth, Leah bet again and earned a fold from the player holding {7-}{2-}{2-}, but the original completer called.

Leah bet again on sixth, but this time, his opponent folded.

Leah turned over a {6-}, then a {7-}, and he raked in the pot, bringing his stack to right around 34,000.
