A Perplexed Jon Turner Lets His Hand Go

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Turner: {x-}{x-} / {A-}{K-}{Q-}{9-} - fold
Player 1: {x-}{x-} / {3-}{2-}{2-}{6-} / {x-}
Player 2: {x-}{x-} / {A-}{9-}{Q-}{Q-} / {x-}

"Low card, paint, paint," Player 1 chanted at the dealer on fourth street. His wishes were almost granted, when he received a {2-} and Jon Turner picked up a {K-}. The other player in the hand received a {9-}. Player 1 bet, and Turner called, as did the other player in the hand.

"Low card, paint, paint," the player chanted again. This time he received a low card again, but also a pair. The second player decided to lead out this time and, both players called.

On sixth street, Turner made a confused face. He looked around the table. "Oh," he said. "I have the betting lead?"

He did, and for a while it almost looked as if he was going to put chips into the pot. He opted to check, though, then fold to a bet from Player 1. The second player in the hand called the bet, then another bet on seventh. Player 1 showed {A-}{4-}{K-} for a sixty-four low, and he took down the pot. Turner saw the hand and nodded, and his face turned from confusion to understanding.

"That's about the best hand you can turn up there," he said.
