Dennis Phillips famously finished in third place in the 2008 Main Event for $4,517,713 and he still has love for the game.
In a recent hand he related to us against Dustin Crump, he three-bet the open and Crump called. The flop was and Crump check-called a bet from Phillips.
The turn was a and Phillips bet 2,500 which was right around pot-sized. Again Crump called.
On the river , a final check from Crump saw Phillips bet 5,000 and that got the job done. Pot without showdown for Phillips.

Konstantin Pushkov from Russia has over $2,500,000 in live tournament earnings which places him 15th on Russia’s all-time money list, but he has yet to make a big impact at the WSOP.
Pushkov hasn’t got off to a great start here today and in a recent hand he saw a flop of and moved all in. His opponent though for a short while before folding.

A player in The Giant known as “Hercules” has got off to a legendary start. He is sitting on a stack of 67,500 over three times the starting stack and covers his table which puts him a great position to bully and even lose a hand or two while remaining in great shape.
He eliminated a player recently in what he called, “The hand of the day so far.”
Hercules opened for 1,000 holding and called when his opponent moved all in with what turned out to be .
A dramatic run out of with the river riding to the rescue to give Hercules quads.
The "Twelve Labours" didn't include a summer schedule of events at the WSOP, perhaps there is room for one more.

In a massive field of mostly unknowns, we have seen a few scattered pros here and there, but one table in the Amazon room is relatively stacked for the field; Dylan Wilkerson, Barry Greenstein, and Eric Baldwin all share a table. One table over from them sit Jonathan Tamayo and David Baker.
As we make rounds, a continuous trend in the field has been noticed. A lot of players are watching the hand-for-hand coverage of the final round in the $10,000 Heads Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship on their tablets or phones while they play The Giant.
Brian Pinkus has 15 WSOP cashes to his name but The Giant has stomped on him today.
Pinkus was never really able to get going and was recently eliminated by Dennis Busby who called his shove.
This tournament allows unlimited re-buys though until level 6 (Around 10 pm) and also features multiple starting flights.
For details see the intro to this event or search on WSOP.com
