Welcome to the third opening flight of THE GIANT at the 2017 World Series of Poker. This tournament offers players of all buy-in levels a chance at a bracelet with a buy-in of $365, the most affordable live no-limit hold’em event ever offered for a WSOP bracelet.
This is the third of five Friday night flights, with the remainder coming on June 30 and July 7. Day 2 will commence on Saturday, July 8.
Day 1a drew 1,629 entries and Day 1b had 1,230, with Valentin Vornicu bagging the biggest overall stack with 869,500. Chances are, that number won't be topped tonight, but it gives everyone here something to shoot for.
Cards are in the air at 7 p.m. with play scheduled to last eighteen 20-minute levels or down to 10 players, whichever comes first. Late registration is open for eight levels which will be approximately 10 p.m. Play is expected to end at around 2:40 a.m.
Stay tuned for coverage of tonight's flight of THE GIANT!

The levels in the Giant are only 20 minutes long and the players are sure to fall off the shelves. Here are a few familiar faces in the crowd.
Esther Taylor, who has a great deal of success in non-hold'em games as well is in the field. Ralph Massey, who has already had some success in a large field No-Limit Hold'em WSOP tournament already, finishing seventh in the Colossus III for $133,975.
Mesha James and Yosuke Sekiya are also in the field. James is an LA tournament regular and Sekiya is seventh on Japan's all-time money list.

Mark Dube is playing today and has 13 World Series of Poker cashes. His list of circuit and series cashes are exclusively No-Limit Hold'em except one. His best WSOP finish was in 2015 when he finished second for $142,449 in Event #49: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better.
Ylon Schwartz has one WSOP bracelet for Event #27: $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. in 2012 but might be most famous at the WSOP for his fourth place finish in the Main Event in 2008. Peter Eastgate became the 2008 Main Event Champion after beating Dennis Phillips (3rd) and Ivan Demidov (2nd).
