Romero Finds Luck On The River

Nível 9 : Blinds 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
James Romero
James Romero

In a pot of roughly 18,000 on a board showing {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, the small blind checked to James Romero in the hijack who bet 12,500.

The small blind elected to check-raise to 31,500 and Romero went deep in the tank. After several minutes of thought, Romero decided to shove all in for 71,900 total and the small blind snap-called.

James Romero: {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
Small Blind: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

Romero was in bad shape against the top two of his opponent, until the river peeled off the {j-Spades}, turning the tables and giving Romero a better two-pair and the full double up.

"Too Many Lady Gaga"

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Chris Hunichen was all in preflop with a short stack of 13,000 holding the {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} against the {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts} of Ren Lin.

The flop came {5-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} to give Lin the set and Hunichen a pair. The turn was the {a-Hearts} to give Hunichen a boat and the river only strengthened the hand further as the {q-Hearts} hit to give him quads.

Lin, who had been animated during the run-out, put his arms around Hunichen's shoulders while laughing and saying "Too many Lady Gaga" referring to the queens, as he failed to eliminate the man on his right.

Kerber Takes From Rheem

Nível 8 : Blinds 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

In a heads up pot of roughly 5,000 on a flop of {k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Clubs}, Chino Rheem checked from the big blind and Kelvin Kerber bet 2,600 which was called.

On the {6-Hearts} turn Rheem checked again and Kerber bet 8,000. Rheem made the call. The {5-Spades} completed the board and Rheem checked a third time. Kerber sized to 18,000 and without much thought Rheem tossed in chips for a call.

Kerber rolled over {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for top pair and Rheem tapped the tabled and flashed a king before tossing his cards in the muck. Kerber's stack is one of the biggest in the field.
