Day 2 of Event #81 $5,000 FreezeoutNo-Limit Hold 'em is now over, and it was a frantic day of action. The day began with 153 players and would end with only ten after ten levels of play.

Leading the field after the dust settled was Peter Turmezey of Hungary, who used a late-night surge to bag up the lead with 8,810,000. He won several large pots in the final two levels of play, including the last hand of the night, where he was the beneficiary of kings over ace-king.

Toby Lewis finished in second place with 6,665,000 after he had a solid day that saw him steadily ascend the chip counts starting in the middle part of the day and ending strong.

Adam Hendrix has put himself in a good position to contest for his first WSOP bracelet as he ended the day with the third biggest stack with 5,140,000, and Cliff Josephy rose up the counts quickly in the last levels of the night to climb to fourth in chips with 4,180,000.

The rest of the field comprises an interesting mix representing multiple countries to make for what promises to be a great Day 3 on July 15, which gets underway at 2 p.m. local time and will play down to a winner.

The money bubble hit about two and a half hours into the day when Marius Gierse crashed out as the bubble boy. From there, the eliminations would continue at a steady pace until the final three tables, where some well-known players were eliminated, such as Aaron Massey in 23rd place, Kitty Kuo in 22nd place and then the start of day chip leader Mark Davis hit the rail in 19th place. Shortly after that, Nacho Barbero would brutally bust in 17th as his flopped straight was outdone by a rivered full boat.

Michael Mizrachi's bid for a sixth bracelet would come to an end in 12th place after he had had the chip lead around three tables left. But he lost a few key pots after that, including getting called on a river bluff against Josephy that cost him a significant portion of his stack. The steam would run out not long after that, and he became the penultimate elimination of the night after Mike Watson was the final busted player when he ran ace-king into kings.

PokerNews will bring Day 3 to you live on July 15 from 2:00 p.m. until the conclusion of this event.

It was a cooler hand to run into for Watson and when the board ran out {9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}, it was the end of the road for the Canadian as he finished in 11th place.

Straver Doubles Trough Watson

Nível 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Johannes Straver had the {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} in a preflop all in against the {3-Clubs}{3-Spades} of Mike Watson.

The flop came {q-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades} to give Straver all sorts of outs and the turn and river buried Watson's threes as the {a-Diamonds} and {a-Hearts} came off to grab the double for Straver.
