Soverel Doesn't Have to Split Hendrix's Bounty

Nível 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Adam Hendrix was all in for 27,000 from the button and up against Sam Soverel in the small blind and a player in the big blind.

"What happens if we f''*king chop this guy up, who gets the bounty," Soverel wondered as he and the big blind checked down the {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{6-Hearts} board.

Soverel showed {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} and the big blind {j-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, both with a pair of jacks. "Who wins," Soverel asked before realizing his ten-kicker played.

Hendrix was left with ace-high and hit the rail, his bounty chip going over to Soverel.

Break Time

Nível 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

The remaining players have been sent on their second 15-minute break of the day. They will return to blinds of 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 big blind ante, at which point late registration will be closed.

Chidwick Cracks "Chewy's" Aces

Nível 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Stephen Chidwick was facing a pre-flop three-bet from big stack Andrew Lichtenberger before shoving all in for around 70,000. Lichtenberger snap-called and showed {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}.

Chidwick was in big trouble as he turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The flop came {6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}, followed by the {2-Clubs} on the turn.

But it was the {10-Hearts} on the river that improved Chidwick to the nut straight as he survived. "LuckyChewy" took the bad beat in stride as he continued to tell jokes and laugh with the rest of the table.

Leonard's Hunt For a Bounty Goes Awry

Nível 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

A short stacked player moved all in from under the gun and Patrick Leonard raised to 17,000 from one seat over. The remaining players got out of the way and the under the gun player was officially at risk.

Under the Gun Player: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Patrick Leonard: {j-Spades}{5-Spades}

The at risk player was ahead, although Leonard did have two live cards. "We're all rooting for you," remarked someone at the table not involved in the hand to the under the gun player. The {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Clubs} flop dropped Leonard further behind his opponent but he was still drawing live following the {5-Diamonds} turn. He could find no further help, however, on the {7-Clubs} river, doubling up his opponent and failing to collect the bounty.

Moyer Has Mammoth Stack After Busting Schillhabel

Nível 12 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Jason Moyer and the player in the big blind called a 6,000 raise from Stefan Schillhabel as they saw a flop of {6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

Action checked to Schillhabel and he continued for around 15,000, with only Moyer calling. The turn came the {7-Diamonds} and Schillhabel shoved for his last 45,000, with Moyer snap-calling.

Stefan Schillhabel: {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}
Jason Moyer: {k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Moyer had out-flopped Schillhabel by making trip fours and stayed ahead as the river came the {8-Diamonds} and Moyer collected another bounty.

Moyer, from Winnemucca, Nevada, is currently sitting around 400,000 and has collected eight knockout bounties already.

[Removed:550] Ascending

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

[Removed:532] opened to 5,500 from under the gun and was called by Bryn Kenney in the cutoff. A player on the button then moved all in for 45,900 and [Removed:550] called with the bigger stack while Kenney folded to put the button player at risk.

Button Player: {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}
[Removed:532]: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

[Removed:550] was in a good spot to score the knockout and bounty. The {j-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{7-Spades} runout did pair up the at risk player's kicker but also gave [Removed:550] broadway and the pot to send his stack north of the 250,000 mark.

2022 WSOP Featured Females: Meet Wendeen Eolis, 1st Woman to Ever Cash Main Event

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Wendeen Eolis
Wendeen Eolis

In the mid 1980’s, women were considered no factor in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event, and other than the famous rounder and professional gambler Thomas “Amarillo Slim” Preston, poker players rarely made headlines in the mainstream press. That all changed when Wendeen Eolis became the first woman to cash at poker’s “Big Dance.”

In the 1986 WSOP Main Event, Eolis battled some of the best players in the world, including Amarillo Slim, in a field of 141 runners. She was on her way to a 25th-place finish for a $10,000, return on her buy-in, and permanent bragging rights as the first woman in history to cash in the WSOP Main Event.

Eolis attributes her 1986 WSOP performance to a year of poker tutoring from one of the best, a “relatively” conservative game plan, and cooperative cards. She told PokerNews, “Even today, women can win more by bluffing less than men.”
