Welcome to the first day of Event #40: Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship here at the 2022 WSOP at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. Cards will get in the air at 3 p.m. local time inside the Paris Ballroom.
With super deep structures and large prize pools, the championship events bring out the best of the best in their respective games. Today, players will have the opportunity to show off their stud eight or better prowess in search of a prestigious gold bracelet.

After Allen Kessler bet fourth street and received just one customer in Frankie O'Dell, Kessler called a bet on fifth with O'Dell making openings, while Kessler had open sixes with a five.
On sixth, both players checked with Kessler now showing three to a low to go with his fives.
Kessler then bet seventh after O'Dell checked to him, and received a call.
"Flush" said Kessler as he rolled over his three spades in the hole, getting his fifth one on seventh street.
O'Dell mucked his hand and sent the pot across the table.

With his queen-eight showing, Albini bet fifth street as well and shed one player, but Hill made the call.
Albini paired his four on sixth street and bet again, Hill made the call to see a final card.
Albini didn't stop betting on seventh, he fired one final bet. Hill didn't like that last card and decided to muck and concede the pot to the now two-time bracelet winner.
