Plenty more big names remain in the hunt with GG Poker Ambassadors Daniel Negreanu (159,500), and Felipe Ramos (153,500) among the healthy stacks, along with Chad Eveslage (148,500), Brandon Shack-Harris (147,500), Shaun Deeb (136,500), and defending champion Brian Hastings (125,000) among those entering Sunday with healthy stacks.
Another story to watch for is how the champion in this year’s $1,500 edition of this event performs. Ali Eslami captured the bracelet in that Saturday, then hopped right into this one and spun his starting stack up to 116,500 to come back Sunday.
Registration is open until the start of Day 2 at 2 p.m. in the purple section of the Paris Ballroom, with a few more entries expected to pick up their 7.5 big bets before the entry window shuts to boost the entry total from its 127 on Day 1.
Seven 90-minute levels are scheduled for the day with ten-minute breaks after each level and a 60-minute dinner break after Level 14 (approximately 8:30 p.m.)
PokerNews will have all the action as they play into the money on what will be another exciting day at the 53rd World Series of Poker from its new home at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas.
Cards are in the air and Day 2 is officially underway.

After surviving Day 1 on the last hand of the night by binking a nine on seventh street to make a straight and chop a pot, Allen Kessler is binking again, this time to the tune of a quadruple-up to start his day.
Kessler shared details of the hand where he went multi-way with the since departed Jean Gaspard and Chad Eveslage, with Eveslage showing a pair of threes with an eight-low on seventh street.
Kessler had to work with, then drilled a on seventh street to scoop the pot with a seven low and seven high straight.

Action picked up on sixth street in a heads-up pot. Peter Gelencser bet with his aces showing and Todd Brunson made the call.
Gelencser checked after looking at seventh. Brunson followed up with a bet of his own, which Gelencser called.
Brunson showed his trip queens, but was bested by the trip aces of Day 1 chip leader Gelencser.
Nearby, short-stacked Renan Bruschi was seen heading to the rail.

Last minute entry Jean Gaspard was just seen exiting the tournament area after a less than 15-minute day, courtesy of fellow last-minute entry Phil Ivey.
Their final boards showed Ivey with two pair, sixes and threes, while Gaspard only had a pair of threes with a missed flush draw.

Perry Friedman: //
Action picked up on fourth street in a heads-up pot. Perry Friedman bet and Robert Campbell made the calll.
On fifth, Campbell got the four that would have given Friedman trips. Friedman checked-called a bet from Campbell.
On sixth and seventh, action stayed the same, Campbell bet and Friedman check-called both streets.
"Two pair," said Friedman.
"Steel wheel," announced Campbell, showing his straight flush.
"That's probably going to win", said tablemate Shaun Deeb.
It did, and Campbell scooped the pot.
