Welcome to the first day of Event #40: Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship here at the 2022 WSOP at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas. Cards will get in the air at 3 p.m. local time inside the Paris Ballroom.

With super deep structures and large prize pools, the championship events bring out the best of the best in their respective games. Today, players will have the opportunity to show off their stud eight or better prowess in search of a prestigious gold bracelet.

Last year, it was Brian Hastings who took down the event and the $352,958 that went along with the top spot. Hastings has already had a spectacular week, taking down Event #31: $10,000 Limit 2-7 Lowball Triple Draw Championship for his sixth gold bracelet.
