One for Sammy

Nível 6 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With 20,000 in the pot and a flop of {9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Sammy Farha checked from the hijack and Richard Anthony did the same from the cutoff. When the {6-Diamonds} completed the board on the river, Farha led out for 14,000 and Anthony folded. It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us the chance to update any of you Farha fans out there on his status.

Despite winning that hand, Farha is still down quite a bit from the starting stack.

Kind River for Selbst

Nível 6 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

With approximately 35,000 in the pot and a board reading {2-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, Vanessa Selbst checked from the big blind and then called when Jason Mercier bet 22,000 from the button. Both players then checked the {7-Spades} river and Selbst rolled over the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for two pair. Mercier thought he won and showed the {a-Clubs}{4-} for a pair of aces, but he quickly realized the river did him wrong and he mucked his cards.

"Wow, He Just Called"

Nível 6 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

David Einhorn raised to 5,000 in early position, Toby Lewis called on the button, and Paul Klann defended his big blind. The dealer fanned {8-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, Klann checked, and Einhorn continued for 12,000. Only Lewis called.

The turn was the {j-Hearts}, Einhorn though for a bit then led out for 30,000, and Lewis called.

The river was a repeat jack - the {j-Diamonds} - and Einhorn fired a third and final bullet worth 80,000.

"How much do you have left?" the Brit asked Einhorn.

Einhorn didn't budge, so Tom Dwan leaned over to get a look.

"About one-sixty," he told Lewis.

Lewis reached for chips, and tossed enough forward to make the call. Einhorn turned over {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for aces full of jacks, and Lewis frowned before revealing {a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} for jacks full of aces.

"Wow," Alex Venovski said under his breath.

"Wow," Einhorn echoed. "He just called?"

He turned to Dwan.

"He just called," Einhorn repeated. "I thought he had kings."

Rast & Yong Gone

Nível 6 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A preflop raising war saw Brain Rast get all in for roughly 150,000 holding the {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} against Noah Schwartz, who held the inferior {K-Spades}{Q-Spades}. The {k-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop gave both players a pair of kings, but Rast's kicker had him well out in front. Unfortunately for him, the {Q-Hearts} spiked on the turn to give Schwartz two pair and the lead. The {4-Diamonds} failed to help Rast and he fell just before the dinner break.

Meanwhile, Richard Yong's comeback was cut abruptly short when he was eliminated from the feature table. Unfortunately the details on his demise escaped us.

Kuether Busts Kenney Just Before the Dinner Break

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Over the break you may have noticed that Joe Kuether suddenly had a lot of chips. That came courtesy of the hand right before dinner where he busted Bryn Kenney.

With 65,000 in the pot and a board reading {4-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}, Kenney checked and Kuether fired out 38,000. Kenney woke up with a check-raise to 103,500 and Kuether responded with an all-in three-bet, which is where we picked up the action.

As other players were shuffling out of the Amazon Room headed to their favorite eatery, Kenney sat quietly pondering what to do. A call would cost him the rest of his chips, and after a few minutes of deliberation, he decided to commit them.

"Full house," Kuether said confidently and tabled the {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}. Kenney mucked his cards, mumbled a bit and then headed off down the Rio hallways never to be seen in Event #47: $111,111 One Drop High Rollers No-Limit Hold'em again.

Gross Finds Value with Flopped Quads

Nível 7 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

"He just flops quads and gets paid," we heard someone over at Table 453 say. When we made our way over we discovered they were talking about Jeff Gross, who was holding the {7-Hearts}{7-Spades} on a {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} board.

We're not sure of the action, but we do know there was already 80,000 pulled into the middle and Gross was in for about 170,000 more. Bill Klein, whose holding remain unknown was counting out chips to pay off Gross. He seemed in good spirits all things considered.
