After 10 more levels of play in Event #10: $1,500 Limit Hold'em, the field is down to 19 players, and your end-of-day chip leader is two-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Eric Froehlich. Froehlich bagged 319,000 chips, and his closest competitors are Mark Mierkalns (266,000), Morgan Newman (242,000), and Aaron Ogus (233,000).
The day began with 177 players, and several notable players quickly hit the exits. On one of the first hands of the day, Phil Ivey was knocked out by the aforementioned Ogus. Ogus made a pair of fours, which bested the nine-time WSOP bracelet winner's jack-high. Ivey's friend and fellow multiple gold bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu also fell before the first break of the day. He found himself all in with ace-king, made top pair, but unfortunately an opponent turned two pair to eliminate him.
Other notables who fell short of the money include David "ODB" Baker, Bryan Devonshire, and Tobias Peters.
The bubble finally burst at the end of Level 13, when Andrew Leshovsky was forced to go all in from the small blind with just 800 chips. An opponent made trip queens against his ten-high, and sent him to the rail empty handed.
Once the players were in the money, we lost a gaggle of players, including Matt Hawrilenko, Sam Barnhart, Tom Schneider, Nick Schulman, David Goldberg, Michael Moore, Kevin MacPhee, Larry Wright, Hoyt Corkins, Lee Goldman, and Alex Dovzhenko.
En route to grabbing the chip lead, Froehlich eliminated Mike Sowers in 29th place. The two got it in on the turn of a 
board, and Froehlich opened up 
for a straight flush. Sowers was drawing dead with 
, and hit the rail.
After the redraw, Froehlich made another timely flush - this one against Thomas Blizniak. With the chip lead and the experience, Froehlich is certainly one of the favorites to bring home the gold, but there are several tough players remaining.
Jeff Shulman is looking to replicate what his father and mother have accomplished by bringing home a gold bracelet. He will be in tough shape with just 23,000, however, and will need to spin it up early on Day 3.
