Froehlich Gets a Little

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} Eric Froehlich was involved in a pot with Mike Sowers to his immediate left. Froehlich checked, Sowers bet, and Froehlich called.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked. On the {Q-Clubs} river, Froehlich bet and he was called by Sowers. Froehlich showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds} and it was good enough to take the pot.

Segev Busts Schneider

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Amos Segev opened for a raise, and only Mike Schneider called. The flop fell {4-Hearts}{10-Spades}{k-Spades} and Segev check-called Schneider's bet. The turn was the {3-Clubs}, and Segev again checked. Schneider bet, leaving only 1,000 in front of him. Segev raised and Schneider called with the last of his chips. Schneider showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} for no pair and an inside straight draw. Segev turned over {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and was ahead, but Segev was very alive with 10 outs. The river, however, was the {3-Spades}, securing the pot for Segev with and eliminating Schneider from the tournament.

Dovzhenko Busts to Queen

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

We unfortunately missed the action, but Alex Dovzhenko was all in on a board of {4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{k-Spades}. There was action on the side between Alex Queen and Chiduziem Obi, but Obi's hand hit the muck before we could capture it.

Dovzhenko opened up {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for ace-high, and gave Queen a not-so-satisfied look when he showed {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for a flush. Dovzhenko hit the rail, while Queen chuckled at the angry stare and raked in the pot.

Shulman Doubles Up Through Small

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

Preflop, one player made it two bets from the hijack seat. In the cutoff, Brandon Guss made it three bets. Jeff Shulman then made it four bets from the button. The action folded back to the original raiser who folded. Guss then made it five bets and Shulman called.

The two players agreed to put in the rest of the chips before the flop was shown as Shulman had less than one bet left.

Shulman: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Guss: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {2-}{a-}{8-}{8-}{3-} and Shulman doubled up through Guss.

Goldman Gone

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Aaron Ogus checked to Lee Goldman on a flop of {9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{j-Spades}. Goldman bet, Ogus check-raised, and Goldman called, leaving less than a big bet behind. The turn was the {k-Hearts}, Ogus bet dark, and Goldman tank-called all in for 1,500.

Ogus: {j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Goldman: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}

"Ace," Goldman requested quietly. "One time."

It was not to be as the {q-Hearts} completed the board, and Goldman was eliminated. Other players who have recently hit the rail include:

Blizniak Doubles Up

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Thomas Blizniak called from early position, then Eric Froehlich raised and Melanie Banfield called from the big blind. Blizniak also called. The dealer spread {8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{7-Hearts} on the flop, and Blizniak led out. Froehlich immediately folded, and Banfield raised. Blizniak re-raised all-in, and Banfield called. The players exposed their cards:

Banfield: {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Blizniak: {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Blizniak had the nut flush with a straight flush redraw. Unfortunately for him, most other hearts would counterfeit his hand, as Banfield held the nut-flush draw to go with her top pair. The turn was a meaningless {10-Spades}, but Banfield still had her flush outs. The river surely would have been an action card if the players weren't already all-in. It was the {j-Hearts}, giving Banfield her nut flush but giving Blizniak a winning straight flush. Blizniak doubled up in style and is still alive in the tournament.

Obi Jedi Mind Tricks Corkins

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Hoyt Corkins
Hoyt Corkins

Preflop Hoyt Corkins raised. He was only called by Chiduziem Obi in the big blind.

The flop fell {K-Spades}{q-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Obi checked, Corkins bet, and Obi called.

The turn was the {J-Diamonds}. Obi checked again, Corkins bet again. This time though, Obi raised. Corkins tanked, then called.

On the {5-Clubs} river, Obi bet and Corkins called.

Corkins showed {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts} for top pair, but Obi showed {Q-Diamonds}{J-Spades} for two pair.

"I don't know why I bet when the jack came," Corkins said after the hand. Corkins was eliminated shortly after that hand.
