Froehlich Turns a Straight Flush; Busts Sowers

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 0 ante
Eric Froehlich
Eric Froehlich

Eric Froehlich raised from under the gun, Mike Sowers made it two bets on his direct left, and Amos Segev cold-called on the button. Froehlich called as well, and the flop came {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Froehlich led out, Sowers raised, Segev folded, and Froehlich called.

The rest of the money went in when the {9-Diamonds} turned, and the hands were opened:

Froehlich: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Sowers: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Froehlich turned a straight flush, leaving Sowers drawing dead. The {a-Clubs} completed the board, and Sowers was eliminated in 29th place.

Froehlich now has 120,000 chips.

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Facing a raise pre-flop, a gentleman who introduced himself as "Falafel" 3-bet, and Aaron Ogus called. The flop was {7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{j-Spades}, and all three players checked. They checked again when the {k-Hearts} fell on the turn. The river was the {6-Spades}, and this time Ogus bet out. Both other players folded. Ogus turned over his cards, showing {10-Spades}{5-Spades}, and said "Show a bluff, one time," as he raked in the pot.

How Often Does That Happen?

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Preflop Chiduziem Obi made it two bets, he was called by Mark Mierkalns in the big blind.

The flop fell {9-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Mierkalns checked. Obi bet, and Mierkalns called. The turn was the {8-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {6-Diamonds} and both players checked again.

Obi turned up his {K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and pointed to the queen showing that he had already hit the flush on the turn, but both players chopped the pot by playing the board.

Tran Busted

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Pre-flop, action was three handed. An Van Tran was all-in for exactly 3 bets, and the other two matched that amount. By the turn, the board was {3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Hearts}, and one player had folded. The remaining players turned up their hands. Tran held {a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and was drawing to only three outs against his opponent's {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}. The river was the {9-Spades}, giving Tran no help and eliminating him from the tournament.
