Abdine Takes it Down

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Shivan Abdine raised to 300 from the hijack and was called by Peco Stojanovski and Brendon Rubie in the blinds.

The flop came down {7-Spades}{q-Hearts}{a-Clubs} and the blinds checked to Abdine who bet out another 500 in chips. Only Stojanovski made the call as both watched the {k-Hearts} on the turn. Both players quickly checked before the {6-Diamonds} completed the board.

Stojanovski then check-called a bet of 600 before mucking his hand when Abdine tabled his {k-Spades}{5-Spades} for a pair of kings.

Another for Brummelhuis

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Three players each put in 825 preflop to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Spades}. Michiel Brummelhuis checked from middle position, the player in the hijack did the same, and then both of them called a bet of 750 from reigning Aussie Millions champ Ami Barer.

All three players proceeded to check the {8-Diamonds} turn as well as the {6-Diamonds} river and Brummelhuis tabled the {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for aces with a queen kicked. It was good as both the hijack and Barer mucked their hands.

Despite winning that one, Level 1 hasn't been kind to Brummelhuis, who is down to 17,000.

Three-way Chop with Top Pair

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

With roughly 1,700 in the middle and the flop reading {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{K-Hearts}, Leo Boxell checked, an unknown player bet 1,050 and Vanessa Rousso called.

Boxell check-raised all in for 4,550 as the flop aggressor moved all in for 3,025. Rousso called and the cards were all tabled.

Boxell: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}
Rousso: {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

With each player holding the same hand, only Boxell had a redraw, but when the turn and river landed the {2-Hearts} and {J-Clubs}, the pot was chopped up three ways.

Shack-Harris Still Chasing Danzer

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Yesterday, George Danzer won his third gold bracelet of 2014 and pulled out to a big lead in the Player of the Year race. However, the man who was leading it at the start of the WSOP APAC, Brandon Shack-Harris, isn't out of it yet. Some very deep runs in either this event or the upcoming AU$25,000 High Roller could tip the scales back in his favor. It's a long shot, but his journey starts today.

In a recent hand, Shack-Harris opened for 200 from middle position only to have the player on the button three-bet to 525. Steven Zhou flatted from the small blind, Shack-Harris put in the additional 325, and three players took a flop of {7-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}. Two checks saw the button continue for 1,050, only Shack-Harris called, and the dealer burned and turned the {2-Spades}.

Shack-Harris check-called a bet of 3,000 and then both players checked the {K-Hearts} river. The button was the last aggressor and obligated to show first, and he sheepishly tabled the {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}. Shack-Harris then rolled over the {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a pair of jacks and the win.

Barer Arrives

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

2014 Aussie Millions Champion Ami Barer has just taken a seat in the tournament and kicked it off with a min-raise to 200 in the hijack.

Luis Pampliega called in the small blind and checked a {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop to Barer who tossed in a bet of 175. Pampliega called as both players checked the {2-Diamonds} on the turn.

The river landed the {4-Diamonds} and again Pampliega checked as Barer bet out 1,100. Pampliega folded and Barer collected the pot.

"Don't do this to me"

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Frank Kassela must have already lost quite some chips early on to Michael O'Grady and another player on his table and these two would then clash on a flop of {7-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {2-Clubs}. Even though the full action is unsure, the chips went in with {A-Hearts} {3-Hearts} for O'Grady and the opponent called with {5-Clubs} {5-Spades}. He kept saying to the dealer "Don't do this to me," paying for his hand to hold up.

The {10-Diamonds} on the turn was a blank but the {4-Clubs} on the river gave O'Grady a wheel to scoop the massive pot.

Teng Starts with a Bang

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The opponent of Victor Teng limped in for 100 from the hijack and Teng made it 500 from the small blind, to which his opponent replied with a raise to 1,600. Teng called and checked the {9-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} flop only to check-raise to 4,000 when his opponent made it 1,300 to go. The other player responded with a reraise to 13,500 and then called all in for 27,800 when Teng shoved.

Teng: {9-Spades} {9-Hearts}
Opponent: {K-Clubs} {4-Clubs}

Neither the {10-Hearts} turn nor the {3-Spades} river provided the flush for the opponent and he was left with 2,000 in chips whereas Teng got a very early Christmas present.
