You Won't Believe This

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

With nearly 20,000 in chips already in the middle, one player and Sam Khouiss were involved in some big action on the paired board of {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}. The unknown player was first and bet 10,000. With stack of 22,300, Khouiss raised all in. This sent his opponent into the tank, and tank he did for several minutes.

"It's only 12,300 more," said Khouiss after a bit of time. "But you can fold and still come back."

"I think you've got a boat," said the other player. "I've got a boat, but I've got the lowest one possible."

"A boat?" asked Khouiss in a surprised manner. "I thought you had a flush."

After another minute or two passed, and then Khouiss' opponent laid down the {2-Hearts}{2-Spades} for all to see. Indeed he did have a full house, deuces full of jacks, and he made the tough lay down. Khouiss showed the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} for a bigger full house, and jaws dropped around the table.

On the next hand, the player who laid down the deuces against Khouiss got involved in another big pot. This time, though, he wouldn't be left with chips to fight on.

On the {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} board, two players checked, and then Vincent Chua bet 700. The first player check-raised to 1,400, and then the player from the previous hand reraised to 3,100. Chua immediately made it 8,500 to go, and the first player got out of the way. The player who folded the full house moved all in for 22,000, and Chua called.

Chua had the {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, and the other player had the {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}. The turn was the {J-Clubs} to give Chua a winning flush, the river completed the board with the {2-Spades}.

Some for Kastle

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Casey Kastle limped from under the gun and one player raised to 700, Shane Warne called one seat over and the player in the small blind squeezed to 2,600. Only Kastle called and called a bet of 2,200 by his opponent on the {7-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {8-Spades} flop. The {3-Clubs} on the turn was checked through and Kastle then bet 3,500 after the {7-Clubs} river when the action was checked to him. The player in the small blind released his cards and the Slovenian raked in the pot.

Kamutzki Keeps on Hitting

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

While looking through the tournament area we chatted with Heinz Kamutzki. Although the German wasn't too happy about the arrival of Michiel Brummelhuis and Ami Barer on his table, he can't complain much about the second starting flight thus far. "Every time I had hit the turn, I pretty much got paid off," Kamutzki said and currently boasts more than double the starting stack.

An Orbit with Brazilian November Niner Bruno Politano

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Bruno Politano
Bruno Politano

In less than a month Brazilian Bruno Politano will be heading to Las Vegas to compete for $10 million. That's because he's a member of this year's World Series of Poker Main Event November Nine. He currently sits last in chips, though he has the biggest short stack since the November Nine's inception.

Politano is the only member of this year's November Nine to make the trip to the WSOP APAC, and he's excited to be getting some valuable experience. Two days ago Politano made the final table of Event #7: AU$2,200 Six-Handed No-Limit Hold'em alongside Phil Hellmuth. Neither won that event — they finished sixth and fourth respectively — but it was certainly the highlight of the trip for the Brazilian, who is in today's field hoping for even more WSOP success.

We decided to spend an entire orbit with Politano, who was sitting with 35,500 at a seven-handed table that included 2010 WSOP champ Jonathan Duhamel.

Hand #1 (Early Position): The under-the-gun player raised to 600 and Politano called. Both the cutoff and big blind called and four players took a flop of {9-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds}. The big blind checked, the original raiser continued for 1,550, and everyone, including Politano, folded.

Hand #2 (Under the Gun): Politano opened for 450 and took down the blinds.

Hand #3 (Big Blind): The under-the-gun player opened for 450 and a player in early position called. Politano defended his big blind and three players watched the flop come down {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Politano checked, the under-the-gun play bet 1,125, and the early-position player folded. Politano then woke up with a check-raise to 2,550, his opponent called, and the dealer burned and turned the {3-Clubs}.

Politano fired out 3,325, and that did the trick as his opponent folded the {j-Hearts}{x-}.

"You wouldn't be German would you?" the player asked Politano, clearly referencing his aggressive style.

Hand #4 (Small Blind): Duhamel raised to 500 from the hijack and took down the pot.

Hand #5 (Button): The player in the cutoff raised to 500 and Politano folded.

Hand #6 (Cutoff): Action folds to Politano and he released his hand.

Hand #7 (Hijack): Action folds to Politano and he raises to 450. The player on the button responded with a three-bet to 1,125, and after the blinds folded, Politano called to see a flop of {9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Politano check-called a bet of 1,725 and then both players checked the {Q-Hearts} turn. When the {2-Spades} completed the board on the river, Politano led out for 4,525 and his opponent folded.

Politano was very active in this orbit, and one can't help but wonder if this will be indicative of his style of play come November.

Putt Takes From Krost

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

The hand started with 2010 Aussie Millions main event champion Tyron Krost raising to 500 from under the gun. Graeme Putt made the call from the hijack as the other players got out of the way.

The flop came down {9-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Krost led out for 700 and was called. The {q-Spades} on the turn saw Krost check-call a bet of 1,300 before both players checked the {3-Spades} on the river.

Putt then tabled his {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} and took down the pot when Krost mucked his hand.

Boxell Doubles with Kings

Nível 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Leo Boxell has managed to find a double against Frank Kassela after seeing the last of chips enter preflop.

Kassela: {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}
Boxell: {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{2-Spades}{A-Clubs} and Boxell's kings held to see him scoop the double to put him at roughly half starting stack.
