Tikhoniouk Runs Into Quads

Nível 18 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Alex Tikhoniouk
Alex Tikhoniouk

In an interesting hand before the break reported to us by one of our colleagues, Omar Dahmani opened under the gun to 12,000 and start of day chipleader Alex Tikhoniouk flatted from the big blind to see a flop heads up.

Tikhoniouk check called a bet of 20,000 on {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and lead for 28,000 on the {Q-Clubs} turn. Dahmani made the call and the dealer put the {Q-Spades} out on the river.

Alex Tikhoniouk now checked, and called a bet of 58,000 that followed. Dahmani showed {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} for flopped quads and Tikhoniouk mucked.

Jannick Wrang Bubbles EPT11 Deauville Main Event

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Jannick Wrang
Jannick Wrang

Jannick Wrang moved all in from the button, or at least that was his intention as he had left a few chips behind as he moved his stack in.

David Jaoui was in the small blind and made the call. The big blind folded.

There was a pause of some minutes before the tournament director could arrive at the feature table and instruct that the hands be turned over. During that time they agreed to go all in in in the dark before the flop so Wrang was finally all in.

Wrang was the player at risk and he showed {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

Jaoui had the pair {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

The board ran out {5-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{a-Spades}.

A set right on the flop for Jaoui meant the river ace was irrelevant for Wrang. The 2012 EPT Campione, Campione d'Italia Main Event winner was to be the unfortunate bubble of the tournament.

The remaining players are all now guaranteed at least €8,810.

Kapalas Tops A Milion

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Georgios Kapalas
Georgios Kapalas

The tournament may still be on the bubble but for those with decent stacks there is still room to play down the streets as this hand demonstrated.

Jerome Arnould opened on the button for 10,500 and big stack Georgios Kapalas three-bet from the big blind to 24,500. Arnould made the call in position and they went to a flop.

The dealer spread {8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{j-Clubs} and a check from Kapalas saw Arnould check behind.

The turn card was the {j-Hearts} and now Kapalas led out for 21,500. Arnould made the call.

The river {5-Spades} completed the board and Kapalas reached for chips and placed out a bet of 57,000. Arnould threw in a single chip to indicate a call.

“Kings.” Kapalas said and Arnould mucked with a nod of the head.

With that Kapalas was the first player in the tournament to top the 1,000,000 chip mark.

Luciano Santos De Hollanda Eliminated in 89th Place

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Luciano Santos De Hollanda
Luciano Santos De Hollanda

Luciano Santos De Hollanda moved all in from middle position for what looked to be 61,500. Action folded over to Olivier Piechaczyk on the button and he announced a call. The blinds folded and the players were instructed to keep their cards face down until the rest of the tables finished their currently hand. Spectators gathered around the table until they were sweating the action three-deep. When the hands were revealed, it was shown that Piechaczyk held a dominating position and looked poised to reduce the field by one.

Piechaczyk: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
De Hollanda: {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}

The board ran out {K-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{A-Hearts}, allowing Piechaczyk to finish in the lead with a full house of aces full of jacks. With this elimination, the field is now just one away from the money.

Hand for Hand

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

Tournament director Thomas Lamatsch has decided play will continue hand for hand now, despite the fact that there's still 89 players in the tournament. There has been some stalling, so play will be halted after every hand from now on till the bubble bursts.

Life is Good on Table 11

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante

There are three short stacks sitting in a row on table 11 and Paul-Francois Tedeschi, Simon Ravnsbaek as well as Nicolau Villa-Lobos all take very long before mucking their cards. Dany Parlafes, big stack at the table, randomly asked Tedeschi when he was still to act: "So, how is life?" and the whole table cracked up.

It would take another five minutes or more before the action was finally on the Romanian and he then took down the pot with a raise out of the small blind.

A new dealer had been waiting patiently to take her seat and the players then greeted their previous dealers: "Enjoy your break," before Vadim Shlez remarked "he just had one," referring to the very slow action on the table.

Troyanovskiy Folds to Fight Another Day

Nível 17 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Vladimir Troyanovskiy
Vladimir Troyanovskiy

Ruben Visser opened for 11,000 from middle position and next door neighbor Vladimir Troyanoskiy made the call in the hijack. All other players opted to fold and Visser and Troyanoskiy saw a flop heads up: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

Visser kept his foot on the pedal and fired 8,000. Troyanoskiy made the call. The same was seen on the {3-Clubs} turn with Visser firing 14,000 this time and Troyanoskiy again calling.

The river was another ten to make a board of {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Visser pushed a stack of 75,000 forward, more than enough to put Troyanoskiy all in.

The Russian high roller, who won the €2,000 FPS High Roller for €141,000 late last night, thought for some time before eventually mucking. Visser didn't show. The EPT London champion is up to over half a million, quite the improvement on the 160,000 he started the day with.
