Orpaz Pipped by Tkatschew

Nível 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Kenny Hallaert opened to 7,000 from the hijack and Tom Orpaz three-bet to 21,000 from the cutoff. Action folded back around to Hallaert, who four-bet jammed to bring a quick fold out of Orpaz.

"You got aces?" asked Orpaz. "I had a good ace."

"Not that good," Hallaert commented about Orpaz' fold.

The next hand, action folded to Orpaz and he raised to 7,000 from the hijack before Alexander Tkatschew defended out of the big blind.

"No diamonds!" Orpaz said as the dealer fanned the flop of {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}.

Tkatschew checked and Orpaz continued for 10,000. Tkatschew called. Tkatschew checked again on the {a-Diamonds} turn and Orpaz bet 20,000. Tkatschew again called.

Tkatschew checked a third time on the {k-Clubs} river and Orpaz sized up to 30,000. Tkatschew quickly called. Orpaz showed {a-Hearts}{j-Spades} for top pair, but he was pipped by the {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds} of Tkatschew to lose the pot.

"Ahhhh. Nice hand," Orpaz said glumly.

No Happy Ending for Lehoussine

Nível 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Karim Lehoussine only had a handful of chips behind on the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Spades} turn and then called all in versus Diego Montone, who tabled the {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. Lehoussine was behind with {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, needing a spade for the flush or nine for the straight.

"I don't have a choice, let's go," he said in French and tried to charm the dealer. "Allez ma chérie, I love youuuuu," Lehoussine chanted and was slowly deflated with a half-crying sound when the {k-Hearts} river failed to improve his holding.

Lodge Joins the Chip Leaders After Busting Hulme

Nível 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Harry Lodge
Harry Lodge

The seat of Andrew Hulme was empty and Harry Lodge was sitting behind a far bigger stack over on the other side of the table. According to French poker media and confirmed by Lodge himself, it was a duel of the Brits that ended up in favor of Lodge.

Hulme's raise from a middle position was called by Lodge in the big blind, who check-called a first bet on the {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} flop. Another check-call on the {4-Hearts} turn led to a pot of around 90,000 and Lodge also checked the {4-} on the river.

Hulme then bet 68,000 only for Lodge to shove for another 110,000 effective on top of that with the covering stack. Hulme couldn't get away from {a-Clubs}{q-Spades} and ended up second-best to the {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} of Lodge.

Zuev Controls Pot With Top Pair

Nível 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Laurent Cessy raised the hijack, Miroslav Alilovic called in the small blind and Anatoly Zuev called in the big blind.

The flop came {3-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}. Alilovic checked, Zuev checked and Cessy bet 7,000. Alilovic folded and Zuev called. The turn was the {7-Clubs}. Zuev checked and Cessy bet 27,000, which Zuev called.

Both players checked back on the {3-Spades} river. Zuev had been controlling the pot size from out of position, and showed {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} for top pair to scoop the pot.

Wilf Loses a Chunk to Vu

Nível 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Three ways to the {q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{3-Spades}{j-Spades} turn, Saar Wilf bet 16,000 out of the blinds to force out a third player in the hand and Bernard Vu then raised to 47,000 for Wilf to tank-call.

The {9-Diamonds} fell on the river and Wilf now checked, which prompted a bet of 100,000 by Vu. That covered Wilf's remaining stack, who ended up sigh-folding. "You bluffed me, right?" he asked his opponent while Vu was busy stacking the chips but received no answer.

Seo is the CEO of Hitting Flushes

Nível 14 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Moonho Seo open-jammed a stack of 11,000 from under the gun and got action from the bigger-stacked Andrew Hulme in the small blind.

Moonho Seo: {q-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Andrew Hulme: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

The flop of {3-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} kept Hulme ahead but gave Seo several outs with a flush draw. He didn't have to sweat long as the {10-Clubs} on the turn gave him a lock on the hand for a double before the {2-Hearts} bricked off on the river.
