Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
PN Podcast
PN Podcast

In the latest edition of the PokerNews Podcast, Sarah Herring returns to join Chad Holloway and Jesse Fullen in talking about all the latest in the poker industry. That includes the legend himself, Doyle Brunson, celebrating his 89th birthday. Listen to folks like Phil Hellmuth, Eli Elezra, Matt Savage, and Stefanie Ungar wish "Texas Dolly" a happy birthday.

They also dive into the uproar caused by Hustler Casino canceling a $250K GTD tournament after it had already held four flights, discuss Dan Shak getting into hot water in the commodities world, and debate whether or not they could live in Bally's for a year for $100,000, a popular prop bet that was talked about on social media this week.

Other stories include popular streamer Ludwig calling out the same scammer that Ethan “RampagePoker” Yau did, winners from the recently-completed 2022 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO), and the new slate of online bracelets coming to WSOP.com and GGPoker. Finally, the crew remembers three-time bracelet winner Panayote "Pete the Greek" Vilandos, who passed away at the end of July.

Song Hits The Rail

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Daewoong Song shoved all in from early position and was called by Gergely Kulcsar in the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and the cards were on their backs.

Daewoong Song: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Gergely Kulcsar: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

Song needed help against the better kicker of Kulcsar and when the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} it was no improvement for Song as he exited the tournament in 117th place.

Silva Rocha Takes One More Before Break

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Lucas Silva Rocha raised to 20,000 from under the gun and was called by Daniel Camelo Da Silva on the button.

The flop came {5-Hearts}{2-Spades}{10-Clubs} and Silva Rocha led out for 21,000. Da Silva called to see the {10-Hearts} fall on the turn.

Silva Rocha bet another 55,000 and Da Silva again called as the rest of the table, except Xuan Liu, left the room to go on break. The river came the {j-Spades} and both players checked.

"Eights," Silva Rocha said, showing {8-Spades}{8-Clubs}. Da Silva let out a loud groan before showing two sixes as the two Brazilians walked out of the room together discussing the hand.

Rheem Gets Check-Raised Before Shoving on Pihela

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Chino Rheem
Chino Rheem

Chino Rheem opened to 22,000 in middle position and Igor Pihela defended out of the big blind.

Pihela checked on the flop of {q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{7-Clubs} and Rheem quickly checked back. Pihela checked again on the {9-Spades} turn and Rheem bet 25,000. Pihela put in the check-min-raised to 50,000 and an unphased Rheem made a nonchalant call.

The river brought the {5-Clubs} and Pihela bet a small 40,000. Rheem took a moment before announcing "all in" with Pihela well covered. The Estonian decided to hold onto his remaining stack of around 310,000 and folded.

Kovalski, with about 150,000 behind, used a time bank before deciding to give up his hand.

Salter Goes On a Tear

Nível 19 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Jack Salter
Jack Salter

Action picked up when Chino Rheem opened the cutoff to 23,000 and only Jack Salter came along in the big blind.

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades} and both players checked their options to the {9-Diamonds} turn. Salter elected to lead for more than full pot to 75,000 and Rheem took some time deciding what to do.

"That's more than the pot buddy," said Rheem as he was in the tank. After roughly a minute, Rheem folded and the pot was sent to Salter.

"Can I look at one?" asked Rheem while Salter was about to send his cards to the dealer. Salter grabbed his cards back and gave them a look before smiling and saying "nope".

Two hands later Salter opened to 23,000 on the button and Michael Wang in the small blind cut out a three-bet to 77,000, which Salter called.

On the flop of {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts} both players checked to the {7-Hearts} turn. Wang bet out 60,000 and without much thought, Salter announced raise and pushed out 140,000. Wang took some time but eventually folded and another pot was sent to the Englishman.
