Cabrera Knocks Out Two

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Davidi Kitai put his last 18,000 in, and Igor Kurganov raised to 30,000. Christoph Vogelsang shoved for 215,000, and Pablo Melogno Cabrera shoved as well from the small blind. Kurganov opted to preserve his remaining chips.

Cabrera: {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}
Vogelsang: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Kitai: {q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}

Kitai didn't really have a prayer, and Cabrera held against the ace-queen as the board came {2-Hearts}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Spades}.

Franczak Follows Up €100K SHR Bubble by Bubbling the €25K

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Piotr Franczak bubbles PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final 2015 €25,000 High Roller
Piotr Franczak bubbles PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final 2015 €25,000 High Roller

Earlier in the week, Poland's Piotr Franczak suffered a particularly bad beat to bubble the €100,000 Super High Roller. Unfortunately for him, he had to experience the bubble pain yet against here at the EPT11 Grand Final, this time in the €25,000 High Roller.

This time however, it wasn't a bad beat. Instead, Franczak had grown extremely short, down to just 4,000 in fact, when he committed it under the gun. Dario Sammartino, who was next to act, called the 8,000 big blind, and then Matt Waxman did the same from the cutoff. A short-stacked Tom-Aksel Bedell called the additional 4,000 from the small blind — leaving himself just 8,000 back — and Dominik Nitsche checked his option from the big.

Two checks on the {a-Clubs}{5-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop saw Sammartino bet 10,000, Waxman folded, and Bedell called off. Nitsche got out of the way, and the remaining three players tabled their cards.

Sammartino: {8-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Bedell: {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Franczak: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}

Sammartino had the best of it with middle pair and a big kicker, and the hand held after the {J-Spades} appeared on the turn followed by the {K-Diamonds} river. Had the double elimination taken place between two players at different tables, the 31st-place prize money (€46,400) would have been split; however, the rules state when two eliminations occur at the same table, the player with the lower chip count technically busts first.

That meant Franczak left empty handed in 32nd place, while Bedell got the min-cash.

Kitai Can Breathe Again, Kinda

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Davidi Kitai
Davidi Kitai

Down to his last 6,000 in chips, Davidi Kitai was forced into the big blind. He put out his ante of 1,000 then posted the big blind with his remaining 5,000. After the deal, action folded around to Pablo Melogno Cabrera in the cutoff seat, and he raised to 18,000. Scott Seiver called on the button, and Roman Emelyanov called from the small blind.

The flop came down {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, and Emelyanov checked. Cabrera bet 16,000, Seiver folded, and Emelyanov folded. That gave Cabrera the side pot before he and Kitai contested for the main pot.

Not having looked at his cards yet, Kitai sweated his hand. Barera had turned over the {J-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for just jack high, and then Kitai turned over the {Q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} for top pair.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, and the river was the {5-Diamonds} to give Kitai the pot and another breath of air.

Tens for Smith

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

From the cutoff seat, Dan Smith limped in. Action folded to Christoph Vogelsang in the big blind, and he raised to 35,000. Smith called, and the flop came down {9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Vogelsang led for 35,000, Smith called, and the turn was the {9-Hearts} to pair the board. Vogelsang checked, and Smith checked.

After the {2-Hearts} landed on the river, Vogelsang bet 35,000. Smith called, and his {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} beat the {5-Spades}{4-Spades} of Vogelsang.

Game of Chicken

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Piotr Franczak and Davidi Kitai are both sitting on dire stacks that will soon have them forced all in by the blinds. Kitai mucked his blinds recently and seems to be hoping for either salvation via someone else busting or a big hand at the perfect time on this last rotation.

Cabrera Doubles Through Andreev

Nível 17 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Andrey Andreev check-called 18,000 from Pablo Melogno Cabrera on a {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} board, and the {2-Hearts} completed the community. Andreev came to life with a 70,000 bet, and Cabrera pushed forward all of his blue T5,000 chips. Andreev said he was all in, and Cabrera quickly called. Andreev showed {k-}{q-} for trips, but Cabrera had it beat: {j-}{j-} for a boat.
