Appleby Out 21st

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

From under the gun, Chang He raised to 25,000. Next to act was Dan Smith, and he reraised to 70,000. Charlie Carrel then reraised to 175,000 from the small blind before play fell on Simon Appleby in the big blind. Appleby called all in for 125,000, He folded, and Smith tank-folded.

Appleby had the {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and was dominated by the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} for Carrel. The flop, turn, and river ran out {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}, and Appleby took his leave in 21st place.

"Gee-Gee" For Kurganov

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Igor Kurganov
Igor Kurganov

Igor Kurganov shoved in from under the gun for 125,000, and Dominik Nitsche called fairly quickly on his immediate left. Everyone else mucked.

Kurganov: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Nitsche: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The door card gave plenty of reason for optimism for Kurganov as {j-Spades} was followed by {3-Hearts}{5-Clubs}. The turn, however, brought the {a-Clubs}, and he got out of his seat in anticipation of elimination. The {7-Spades} sealed the deal.

"Gee-gee buddy," Nitsche said, shaking Kurganov's hand.

Nível 19 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante

Top poker pro Bryn Kenney talks about the million-dollar swings he's had on the international poker circuit, and he's not shy about saying that he's been broke once too many. On top of that we get a quote on the value of Kenney's diamond necklace, worth a decent sized bankrol!

Smith Fighting Through

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante

Walid Bou Habib shoved for his last 117,000, and Dan Smith, who seems to be under the weather and is visibly struggling with something, called from the big blind. His {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades} was racing against Habib's {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}, and a dead runout favored Smith.

Melogno Bounces Waxman

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Matt Waxman
Matt Waxman

Pablo Melogno opened for 23,000 early and got a call from Andrey Andreev. Matt Waxman shipped it from the big blind for 73,000, and Melogno reraised, knocking Andreev out.

Waxman: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}
Melogno: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}

Melogno's cards were live and he picked up some more outs as {4-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} flopped. The {8-Clubs} turn filled his straight, but Waxman still had a chance if he could find a club. He could not do so as the {2-Diamonds} hit.

Sotiropoulos Can't Find the Paint He's Looking For

Nível 18 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Georgios Sotiropoulos
Georgios Sotiropoulos

Jeremy Ausmus opened for 20,000 under the gun only to have Georgios Sotiropoulos, who was next to act, three-bet all in for 83,000. When action reached Steve O'Dwyer in the big blind, he four-bet to 146,000, which prompted Ausmus to fold.

Sotiropoulos: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
O'Dwyer: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

It was a race, but Sotiropoulos needed to improve to stay alive. That proved easier said than done though as the board ran out an unhelpful {2-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}. Sotiropoulos' elimination brings about the three-table redraw.
