The European Poker Tour Season 10 Player of the Year race is on, and as you know players will be able to accumulate points in all events throughout Season 10, regardless of the buy-in level. In addition, all of the Festival Events (Estrellas, UKIPT, Eureka, FPS, IPT) that combine with an EPT tour stop will be eligible for Player of the Year points. The winner of this season’s award will walk away with €50,000 in Main Event buy-ins, good for any PokerStars or Full Tilt sponsored event.
The Global Poker Index (GPI) points formula, which will be used to determine the EPT10 POY, is a bit complicated, but you can read about all the details here.
Here are the current top ten on the EPT10 POY Leaderboard. As you can see, Thomas Muhlocker currently sit on top, and that doesn't include the points he'll earn for placing fourth in the EPT10 Prague High Roller :

We'll be bringing you daily updates on the Player of the Year race, so be sure to keep an eye out for those.
Julian Track is playing the big stack very aggressively, he's taken three pots in a row either through raise and takes or three-betting other players off of hands. Georgios Sotiropoulos, ,who's in that awkward position of being second in chips, with two relatively short stacks below him has been three-bet off at least one hand by Track.
Despite this double up Ka Kwan Lau is still the short stack...
From the button Julian Track made it 250,000 to go with , Lau three-bet all-in for 1,235,000 with and Track called the extra.
It was a classic race and it went the way of the pair as the board ran and Lau just about got there. He had to fade a lot of outs on the river as Track was a 41% shot to hit the river.
Georgios Sotiropoulos raised it up with to 240,000 from the button. Ka Kwan Lau in the big blind made the call with .
Both players checked the flop after which the dealer put the down as turn. Lau bet out 275,000 and was soon facing a raise by Sotiropoulos who made it 755,000. Lau thought for four minutes before bumping the action to 1,250,000. Before the dealer was done counting everything there was already an all in and a call.
Lau needed help on the river but wouldn't get it. The was a complete blank and again no Spanish winner on the EPT. Lau is €383,800 richer, three players remain.
During three and four handed play Stephen Chidwick had been open limping fairly frequently from various positions and he did it once more with in the small blind. Georgios Sotiropoulos then raised to 340,000 with from the big blind and Chidwick announced he was all in for 2,785,000.
As he's done fairly often at the final table Sotiropoulos took his time before calling. Chidwick was a 60% favourite to double up but the flop reduced that chance to just 13%. And it was an unlucky turn and river for the Brit as the board ran eliminating him in third place. The same place he finished in the Eureka Main Event six days ago.
They agreed to take €700,000 each, leaving €25,700 in the middle for the winner. Julian Track is so ill that he agreed to the even chop immediately. We'll continue in a few minutes.
There have been no big pots yet in heads-up play and the only pot that made it to the river ended in a chop. Which at least made James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton happy.
