In a pot of 125,000 chips, Ayaz Mahmood made a bet of 30,000 on a flop of A♦Q♣8♠ from the small blind. Oswin Ziegelbecker called under the gun before both players checked on the 4♦ turn.

The river was the 4♥, on which Mahmood checked again. Ziegelbecker then bet 120,000 and was called by his opponent.

Ziegelbecker showed A♠9♠8♣7♥ for aces and eights and was awarded the pot when Mahmood's cards hit the muck.

"Oh wow, nice hand," Blain even said to Demirel, even though he held the technically superior hand.

The flop of 7♠J♦2♦ gave Blain two pair, but also gave Demirel a ton of outs. Sure enough, the turn 8♣ gave Demirel the nut straight with nine-ten, but the river was the miracle J♣ to give Bain a full house to take the pot.
