Ho Gets There Both Ways to Bust Rakuss

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Maria Ho
Maria Ho

Maria Ho raised to 18,000 on the button as action folded to a short-stacked Eduards Rakuss in the big blind. "At 9:30 I make my decision," Rakuss said with more than 10 minutes remaining in the level. He waited until the clock clicked down before calling.

The flop came 968 and Ho bet all in. Rakuss again paused for a moment before calling off his last 10,000.

Eduards Rakuss: 55 All in
Maria Ho: Q7

Ho had a straight draw against Rakuss' pair, and while Rakuss improved to a set on the 5 turn, the same card gave Ho her straight. The K river improved Ho to a flush and sent Rakuss to the rail.

Hobbs Holds with Cowboys

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

After an early position raise to 20,000, Christopher Horter moved all in from middle position for 180,000. Nicholas Hobbs reraised all in and the initial raiser folded.

Christopher Horter: JJ All in
Nicholas Hobbs: KK

Two big hands colliding, the dealer put out A2846 sending Horter packing and awarding Hobbs the pot.

Bell Tolls for Kaufmann

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Picking up the action partway through the hand, Biao Ding in the big blind had David Kaufmann in late position all in and at risk.

David Kaufmann: JJ All in
Biao Ding: AK

Kaufmann would need to win a flip to double and survive. The Q36 flop and 10 turn kept the jacks best but the J river, though improving Kaufmann to a set, handed Ding broadway and the elimination.

Devidal's Queens Hold Up

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

On a flop of 9710, there were around 150,000 chips in the pot when Theo Devidal got his stack of 239,000 into the middle against the player to his right.

Theo Devidal: QQ All in
Opponent: A3

Devidal needed to fade some outs and managed to do so as his pocket queens remained in the lead on the 49 runout.

Gkatzas Loses Almost All of the Power

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Dimitrios Gkatzas was left flabbergasted and leaned back into his chair after his clash with table neighbour John Power saw his stack cut by two thirds.

Power had gotten it in preflop with the QQ and Gkatzas was well ahead with the KK. Nothing changed on the 442 flop but Power struck gold with the Q turn. None of the two remaining kings came as the 10 river completed the board.

Dumonski Calls for his One Time and Gets Rewarded

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Mark Dumonski open-jammed his 114,000-chip stack into the middle from the cutoff and action was on Liviu-Rodrig Bartha who called the shove from the button. The blinds mucked and players were flipping for 250,000 chips.

Mark Dumonski: AK All in
Liviu-Rodrig Bartha: JJ

A classic race, the dealer put out A5652 and Dumonski held on with his pair of aces to rake in a pile of chips.

More Chip Counts in Horseshoe Red and Orange

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

McNulty Eliminated by Platt

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

The cards of John McNulty were already in the muck and his stack was pushed from the nine seat to the other side of the table, where Jeremy Platt collected them. Platt's QQ came out on top of a board of KJ785 and he leaped to seven figures.

Van Blarcum Blasts Opponent Out

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Aaron Van Blarcum opened to 22,000 under the gun before the player in the hijack shoved all in for 123,000. Van Blarcum mulled it over for a bit before putting in a call with the covering stack.

Hijack: 1010 All in
Aaron Van Blarcum: A8

The hijack was ahead with his pair of tens and remained so on the J46 flop. The A turn brought Van Blarcum a better pair, however, and the 9 river did nothing to save the hijack, eliminating him from the Main Event.

Lambrecht Spikes the Flop to Bust One

Nível 16 : Blinds 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Matthew Lamprecht
Matthew Lamprecht

Matthew Lambrecht raised to 16,000 in the cutoff, the button moved all in for 97,000, and Lambrecht called.

All-In Player: 77 All in
Matthew Lambrecht: 66

The at-risk player let out a sigh once Lambrecht called, but his despair quickly turned to hope once he found out he had Lambrecht dominated. The cycle of emotions, though, quickly swung back the other way once the Q106 flop gave Lambrecht a set.

The rest of the board ran out 49 and Lambrecht, who won his first WSOP bracelet earlier this summer, took the pot to send his opponent to an unfortunate exit.
