2024 World Series of Poker
Scott Blumstein jammed all-in for the last 109,000 from an early position and was called by Ala Aqel in the small blind.
The A♦3♠ of Blumstein were up against 7♠7♥ and turned a wheel draw on Q♠9♥2♣4♣. Instead, it was the old-fashioned Barry Greenstein to the rescue on the A♥ river to keep the former Main Event champ in contention.
After a raise from a player in early position to 20,000, Aram Zobian called on the button before Taylor von Kriegenbergh three-bet to 82,000 from the small blind. The initial raiser folded but Zobian reraised all in and von Kriegenbergh quickly called for 297,000 effective.
Taylor von Kriegenbergh: A♠A♣
Aram Zobian: J♠J♣
A preflop cooler in von Kriegenbergh's favor, the board ran out 7♥9♥2♣K♠A♥ and he doubled up.
Koray Aldemir opened to 20,000 from under the gun before an opponent in middle position three-bet to 55,000. Action folded back around to Aldemir, who took some time reaching a decision. His opponent, meanwhile, was busy getting his phone ready to film the hand. Aldemir opted to flat to generate a sizable pot before the flop.
The flop came 3♣3♥9♥, prompting Aldemir to check. The middle position player continued for 40,000, then called with the slightly larger stack after Aldemir responded by moving all in for 178,000.
Koray Aldemir: 10♦10♠
Middle Position Player: K♠K♥
Aldemir was in terrible shape with his tournament life on the line, that is until a miraculous 10♥ rolled off the deck on the turn. The 4♣ river completed the board to hand Aldemir a huge double while leaving the middle position player with dust.
Jevon Lam opened the action with a raise to 20,000 in early position. Angela Jordison moved all in from the button for 132,000 and Lam made the call.
Angela Jordison: A♣A♦
Jevon Lam: K♥Q♥
An action flop of 10♥7♣A♥ gave Jordison top set but Lam jumped into the lead after the 3♥ hit the felt. Needing the board to pair, the 4♦ river rolled off and Jordison was sent to the payout desk.
Beka Iordanishvili open-jammed a stack of 112,000 on the button and Shyngis Satubayev re-shoved a bigger stack in the small blind to get things heads-up.
Beka Iordanishvili: K♣Q♠
Shyngis Satubayev: 7♠7♦
Iordanishvili took a big lead on the A♦J♠Q♣ flop, but it was short-lived as the 7♣ turn gave Satubayev a set before the 9♥ river confirmed Iordanishvili's elimination.
Ami Barer had opened from under the gun and was called by the player on the button and Kevin Butler in the big blind. The flop came A♠4♠3♠ and was checked to the button.
The button then jammed all in for his final ten blinds or so. Butler folded but Barer snap-called.
Button: A♥Q♣
Ami Barer: Q♠J♠
Barer had flopped a flush and left the button drawing dead on the K♦ turn. The K♣ river did not matter as another yell for payouts could be heard across the room.
Ambrose Brooks raised to 21,000 in the cutoff before Ihar Soika moved all in for 85,000 on the button. Brooks called to put Soika at risk.
Ihar Soika: K♥Q♥
Ambrose Brooks: Q♣6♣
Soika had Brooks dominated and was poised for a double up as the A♣Q♠4♥ flop gave both players a pair of queens. Soika was still ahead with his king kicker and remained in the lead on the 3♣ turn, but the 8♣ river gave Brooks a flush and sent Soika to the rail.
