Covington Knocked Out by Ponakovs

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Colby Covington
Colby Covington

UFC fighter Colby Covington and high roller Aleksejs Ponakovs had created a pot of 100,000 chips when they arrived on a turn of 2Q89. After an unseen action from Ponakovs, Covington put out 125,000 chips.

Ponakovs then raised all in, covering Covington's stack of roughly 320,000 chips. Covington went into the tank but eventually slammed in a call for his tournament life.

Colby Covington: AQ All in
Aleksejs Ponakovs: 92

The 3 river did not counterfeit Ponakov's two pair as Covington was sent to the rail.

Xavier Kyablue moved all in for 142,000 from the hijack and Jerome Zerbib called in the small blind.

Xavier Kyablue: 1010 All in
Jerome Zerbib: AK

Kyablue was flipping for his tournament life, but the JA8 flop improved Zerbib to top pair and left Kyablue needing a miracle to stay alive. He didn't find any help on the 2 turn or J river and Zerbib took the pot to send him to the rail.

Backpack Equity Beats Jacket Equity

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Dmytro Bystrovzorov went out of his seat and put on the backpack already when his table neighbour put on his jacket but forgot his backpack. In the preflop showdown, Bystrovzorov was at risk with AK versus J10 and remained ahead throughout the 4329Q runout to stay in contention.

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

There was a three-way all in going on with Ryan Franklin having the best of it and the chance to eliminate two players at once.

Frederic Delval: 7x7x All in
Tyler Smith: 10x10x All in
Ryan Franklin: KxKx

The flop came 6QJ. The turn was the 8 and just as Delval called for a lucky seven the 7 came on the river to save his tournament life and give him a triple up.

Liperis Rivers Stokkan, Feiger Departs As Well

Nível 17 : Blinds 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Yiannis Liperis
Yiannis Liperis

Arriving on a turn of A310K, Preben Stokkan in the small blind checked to Yiannis Liperis in the cutoff. Liperis bet 20,000 chips before Stokkan moved all in.

Liperis made the call to put Stokkan at risk, and the cards were tabled.

Preben Stokkan: A3 All in
Yiannis Liperis: KQ

Stokkan's two pair had a monster lead over Liperis' pair and gutshot. However, the J river gave Liperis Broadway to eliminate Stokkan from the Main Event.

On another table, Day 1a chipleader Joshua Feiger was eliminated after he ran his final few blinds into pocket aces and could not win.
