Straight Flush Results in Small Pot for Hu

Picking up the action on the turn, Evan Hu in the big blind was involved in a hand with Michael Trivett in the cutoff.

With the board reading Q♣8♣4♠Q♠ Hu checked. Trivett bet 2,300 and received a call from Hu.

The 10♣ river saw Hu check once more. After some time, Trivett checked back but quickly mucked after Hu announced "straight flush" as he turned over J♣9♣. While Hu did win the pot, it was clear that he was at least somewhat disappointed at being unable to extract more value with a hand that only comes around every so often.

Castelluccio Takes Almost All of Shorr's Chips

Sergio Castelluccio opened to 800 from early position and was called by the player on the button. Shannon Shorr squeezed to 4,500 from the small blind and only Castelluccio called.

Castelluccio called a 2,700 bet from Shorr on the 8♣4♦4♥ flop and a 6,800 bet from Shorr on the Q♦ turn.

The 7♠ completed the board and Shorr bet approximately 20,000, leaving himself a single 100-denomination chip behind. Castelluccio quickly called and Shorr could only show A♣K♦.

Castelluccio turned over 8♦8♠ for a flopped full house and was sent the massive pot.

Shorr was eliminated shortly after the hand.

The 10♥ river checked to a showdown. Dizer tabled 9♣2♣ for a flopped two pair; enough to see Converse's A♠4♣ into the muck.

Morgan Gets One Through

Brian Morgan opened to 1,000 from the cutoff and was called by Robert Powell on the button before Tae Kim three-bet to 2,700 from the small blind. Both Morgan and Powell made the call.

The flop came A♦Q♣5♥. Kim bet 3,000, Morgan called and Powell got out of the way.

Kim bet another 3,000 on the 6♣ turn. Morgan raised to 11,000 and took the pot without showdown after Kim opted to fold. Morgan mentioned after the hand that he had king-jack for just a gutshot to the Broadway straight.

A player under the gun made it 800 to go and Daryl Aguirre called from the hijack. Arpit Bhardwaj was on the button and he made it 3,600, which was called by under the gun and Aguirre.

On the 8♦9♦K♠ flop, it checked to Bhardwaj who fired 3,600. Under the gun called before Aguirre made it 11,800, which only Bhardwaj called.

A J♥ landed on the turn and Aguirre fired a bet of 16,000, which sent Bhardwaj into the tank. After some time thinking, Bhardwaj folded A♠A♦ face up, and Aguirre was kind enough to show 8♠8♣ for a flopped set.
