Chung Gets Thorpe to Fold

Mike Thorpe opened from the cutoff and Christopher Chung three-bet from the button. Thorpe made the call and both players drew two.

After the first draw Thorpe check-called a bet from Chung and drew two while Chung drew one.

Thorpe check-called another bet from Chung after the second draw. This time both players drew one.

With no draws remaining Thrope checked, Chung bet and Thorpe quickly folded.

Negreanu Falls Victim to Kihara

Heads-up on the first draw, Naoya Kihara and Daniel Negreanu both drew one as Kihara bet.

Negreanu called and drew one again, while Kihara stood pat. Kihara then bet and Negreanu called for his last chips.

Kihara stood pat again and turned over 9x5x4x3x2x. Negreanu showed 7x6x5x2x as he took one.

"Three-across diamond," he said, eventually turning over a 10 and heading for the exit.

Mirzikinian Leaves Pimlott Short

Warwick Mirzikinian opened from under the gun and Bryan Pimlott three-bet from the cutoff. Mirzikinian made the call and drew two while Pimlott drew one.

Both players checked after the first draw. This time Mirzikinian stood pat while Pimlott drew one.

After the second draw Mirzikinian bet and Pimlott called, once again drawing one while Mirzikinian stood pat.

With no draws remaining both players checked.

"Should have kept my ten" Pimlott commented. Mirzikinian showed that it would not have made a difference as he tabled 9x7x6x3x2x for the winner.

Bruschi, Volpe Both Show an Eight; Mercier a Lock For the HOF?

In a blind versus blind battle, Paul Volpe drew two and Renan Bruschi took three. Bruschi then bet and Volpe called.

Volpe drew two more and Bruschi one. Bruschi bet again and Volpe again called as he took one and Bruschi stood pat.

Bruschi bet and Volpe called once more as both players showed 8x7x4x3x2x to chop the pot.

While this hand was taking place, tablemates Allen Kessler and Jason Mercier were discussing the Poker Hall of Fame.

"You're a lock to get in," Kessler told Mercier.

"How am I going to get in if they only let in one person a year? There's going to be like 30 people eligible in the next two to three years. So many people are 37-38 right now," Mercier added, then calling out to John Monnette at another table as another possible future inductee.

Lin Loses a "Cooler" to Mirzikinian

Warwick Mirzikinian bet the first draw from the cutoff and Ren Lin called in the small blind.

"I need two sides," Lin said as he drew one. Mirzikinian also drew one and bet. "Very good for me," Lin said after peeking at his cards, putting in a raise.

Mirzikinian called and both players stood pat. "Wow, you serious? You pat too? Very dangerous," Lin said. He ended up betting and Mirzikinian called.

Lin showed 8x7x5x3x2x, but Mirzikinian had 8x6x5x4x2x to win the pot.

"That's a cooler. It's like kings versus queens," Lin added after the hand.

Johns Forces Two Folds

Naoya Kihara opened from the hijack and received calls from a player in the small blind and Ian Johns in the big blind. All three players drew two.

After the first draw the small blind checked, Johns bet and both opponents called. Johns drew one while his two opponents each took two.

Johns bet again when checked to after the second draw and was once again called by both of his opponents who drew one each while Johns stood pat.

With no draws remaining action checked around to John who bet again and this time it was enough to force a fold from both opponents.

Rotholz Pips Weisman to the Rail

Hal Rotholz and Dylan Weisman exchanged raises on the second draw and ended up with Weisman's last chips in the middle.

Both players stood pat on the final draw and Weisman showed 8x6x5x3x2x. Rotholz, though, had 8x6x4x3x2x to win the pot with his four and send the newly-crowned double-bracelet winner to the rail.

Mike Matusow was already all in on the first draw as Bin Weng and Chino Rheem built a side pot. Rheem bet from early position, Weng raised in the big blind, and Rheem called.

Matusow took two, Rheem one, while Weng stood pat. Weng then bet and Rheem called.

Weng and Rheem both stood pat as Matusow took two. Weng then checked to Rheem who bet.

Matusow already tossed his cards into the muck and was gathering up his things as Weng went into the tank. He eventually folded and Rheem returned his cards face down, later telling Matusow he had an 8-6.

Eveslage Wins With Eighty Seven

Action was picked up with three players remaining after the first draw and about 15,000 in the middle. Viktor Blom checked, Chad Eveslage bet, Sami Hamid called and Blom called. Blom and Hamid each drew two while Eveslage drew one.

After the second draw Blom checked, Eveslage bet, Hamid called and Blom folded.

With no draws remaining Eveslage stood pat and Hamid drew one. Both players checked.

Eveslage tabled 8x7x6x5x3x which was good enough to take the pot.
