Yau Still Learning the Game

Ethan "Rampage" Yau has taken his seat in this tournament, having taken a few lessons from Dylan Linde's book "Mastering Mixed Games."

On one of his first hands, he was on the button and called a raise from Ryan Scully under the gun. The flop came 8♦7♦8♥ and Scully continued with a bet.

Yau called and both players checked the 2♥ turn. The river came the 3♣ and Scully bet again.

"I have ace-seven. I don't know if this is a low," Yau said. He eventually mucked.

"It is a low, but a bad one," a tablemate said.

"You pretty much had the same low I had. If you call, you get three-quarters," Scully said as he turned over K♦K♣.

Mehmood Quick to Get Involved at New Table

Immediately after getting moved to a new table, Omar Mehmood checked his option in the big blind after being limped to in a hand that included "Miami" John Cernuto.

On a flop of 10♦8♣5♠, action checked through to a 4♠ turn. Mehmood opted to lead out when the small blind checked to him and he received a call from both Cernuto on the button and the player small blind.

The Q♦ hit the river and Mehmood led out once again, this time getting folds from Cernuto and the player in the big blind.

Moeller Sends One Out

On a board of 9♥K♦10♦4♠, a player on the button bet and Justin Moeller called in middle position.

The river came the 7♣ and the button moved all in for their last chips. Moeller called with A♥8♦3♠10♥ for a pair of tens and the button could only show ace-high before heading for the door.

Brandon Shack-Harris and Luis Velador are also seated at this table with healthy stacks.

Burton Beats Campbell Twice

Robert Campbell had just taken his seat in the tournament when he called a bet from big blind Colin Burton on a flop of 4♦8♥10♠.

The turn came the A♥ and Campbell again check-called a bet. Burton bet again on the 8♦ river and Campbell threw his hand away this time.

A few hands later, Campbell opened the betting from the cutoff on a flop of 10♥3♦10♦ and Burton called on the button. The turn came the 4♦ and Campbell bet.

Burton called as the river came the K♥. Campbell checked this time, then called when Burton bet. Burton showed A♦2♦3♠K♠ for a flush and Campbell mucked.

"Not Much" is Plenty for Micon

On a board reading 3♣Q♥2♥A♠, Bryan Micon called a bet from his opponent to see the 9♣ hit the river.

Action checked through to showdown and Micon's opponent asked, "Got anything?"

Micon responded, "Not much" as he turned over the 10♠10♠8♠8♥. Not much was good enough to take the pot, though, as his opponent quickly sent his cards into the muck.

Buckner Getting a $1,500 Lesson

"I've never played this game before. This is my first time. What better way to learn than to pay $1,500," Steven Buckner said as he raised from the button.

A player in the big blind called as the saw a flop of 2♠3♣5♠. Buckner continued with a bet and the big blind called. The turn came the 3♥ and Buckner bet again.

The big blind called as the river came the 3♥. Buckner bet for a third time and his opponent stuck around.

Buckner opened up Q♥A♣3♠2♣ for a full house and the big blind had Q♠Q♣A♦6♦ for a low to chop the pot.

"Can you believe this shit? They're not teaching me," Buckner said following the hand.

On a board of J♥2♥Q♠9♠, the late position player checked to Clayton Mozdzen who threw out a bet. His opponent tossed in a call and they were off to the 10♦ river.

Both players opted to check through to showdown as Mozdzen turned over the K♣K♦8♦4♥, which was good to take down the pot and chip up.
