Day 3 of Event #86: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em is done and dusted and only six players from the original 394 who started this tournament remain in contention for the event's bracelet and the $824,649 top prize.

Forty-five players returned to their seats on Day 3, several WSOP bracelet winners among them. A steady flow of eliminations saw the likes of Taylor Paur, Upeshka De Silva, and Brian Rast depart in the money but shy of the final table.

Adrian Mateos, Cary Katz, and Jared Jaffee made it to the final four tables, while the eliminations of Davidi Kitai, Anthony Zinno, Romain Lewis, Scott Bohlman, and Martin Zamani, the latter in seventh place, left only Barak Wisbrod and Ali Eslami as the only WSOP bracelet winners still in the hunt for this tournament's title.

Pavel Plesuv raised to 160,000 from the hijack and Martin Zamani three-bet shoved from the button. Gregory Jensen was sitting in the small blind and asked for a count. The dealer confirmed Zamani had 1,200,000 exactly. Jensen made the call and Brock Wilson quickly folded his big blind. Plesuv looked at his cards once more and then folded but showed he had the {a-Spades}.

Martin Zamani: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Gregory Jensen: {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}

The board ran out {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for Jensen to flop a set and improve to a full house on the river to bust Zamani in seventh place.

"Tight Check"

Nível 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

The flop read {2-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} and Pavel Plesuv checked his big blind. Barak Wisbrod bet 120,000 for Plesuv to call.

They both checked through the {k-Clubs} on the turn to the {10-Diamonds} on the river. Plesuv checked again.

"Tight check," Wisbrod said when he checked too.

Plesuv showed the {7-Clubs} and the {6-Diamonds} for the flush. Wisbrod hesitated for a bit and then mucked.

Plesuv made a comment and Wisbrod responded: "Some people when they drink, they become funny. I become tight." He then claimed he did have the flush too but with pocket fives.

$100 for a Beer

Nível 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

With 30 minutes left in the level and the night, the beers on the rail and on the tables have started to flow.

Martin Zamani asked Brock Wilson earlier in the level how much it would cost for him to drink a beer. Back then, Wilson said he'd need at least $500. It seems like that price has gone down significantly now as Zamani just gave him $100 and a beer which he just sipped from.

Plesuv Makes the Right Fold Against Eslami

Nível 26 : Blinds 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Pavel Plesuv raised to 160,000 from under the gun and Ali Eslami was the only one who made the call from the hijack.

The flop came {8-Spades}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts}, Plesuv opted to check and Eslmani fired a bet of 220,000 over the line.

Plesuv considered it and then asked: "Will you show if I fold?"

"I'd rather not answer that now." Eslami initially responded. "But I feel, if you're asking me that, you're going to fold anyways?"

Plesuv did indeed.

"We both show one?" Eslami offered.

"If it's an ace, yes," Plesuv replied.

Eslami showed the {a-Diamonds} and Plesuv tabled the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

Las Vegas Active Shooter Rumors Spark Panic; WSOP Impacted, Negreanu Injured

Nível 25 : Blinds 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Paris Las Vegas
The scene at Paris Las Vegas

On Saturday night, Las Vegas was rocked by rumors of an active shooter situation at MGM Grand. Fortunately, it proved to be a false alarm, though the ramifications – including panic fueled by misinformation – reverberated throughout the Strip and even impacted the 2022 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at Bally’s and Paris, which just hours before had crowned its Main Event champion.

What appeared to happen was an incident near the MGM was misinterpreted as gunshots, which understandably inspired patrons to flee en masse across the casino floor, including the MGM’s tournament poker area, in route to the nearest exit. There were also rumors, thus far unfounded, that firecrackers may have been set off.
