Stokkan Back to Above Two Million

Nível 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Preben Stokkan
Preben Stokkan

The board read {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{k-Spades}{7-Spades} with over 400,000 in the middle already.

Robert Cheung was sitting in the tank from the middle position after he had checked and Preben Stokkan had bet 400,000 on the button. Cheung had 330,000 behind so would be putting his tournament life at risk if he made the call.

"I know you bluff, you were down to only 5,000 yesterday! Cheung said to Stokkan referring to his huge comeback yesterday to end with the chip lead.

Stokkan didn't respond.

"If this wasn't the Main Event, I would have called already," Cheung muttered.

Still no response of Stokkan and in the end, Cheung opted to fold.

As expected, a lot of the shorter stacks got their chips in and soon after headed to the payout desk. Only 950 players out of the 1,286 hopefuls that entered Day 4 remain in the first 20-minute break and when they return, the blinds will be 5,000/10,000 with a 10,000 big blind ante.

Below are some highlights of the early Day 4 action.

Petroni Shows The Queen-Jack

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

There was around 80,000 in the pot in a three-way hand as the dealer fanned the {5-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{a-Clubs} flop. The hijack checked, as did Giovanni Petroni from the cutoff. The player on the button followed suit and the turn fell {q-Hearts}.

Action checked to the player on the button who bet 25,000. The hijack called and Petroni put in a raise to 125,000. The player on the button thought for around three minutes before letting his hand go. The hijack called and the river came {8-Diamonds}. The hijack then checked and Petroni announced he was all in, pushing forward a small amount of chips and leaving the majority of his 530,000 or so where it stood.

His opponent folded without much thought and he emphatically tabled {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for nothing more than a pair of queens, taking the pot without a showdown.

Seymour Wins With Queens

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

On the {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} turn, Richard Seymour checked in early position and called a bet worth 75,000 by Gordon Vayo on the button. The {j-Clubs} river was checked through and Seymour tabled {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for queens and jacks, Vayo flinched his cards into the muck.

Their table will be heading to one of the feature tables after the upcoming first break of the day.

$15,970 to these players for their respective finishes.

Assorted Counts

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Force Eliminates Opponent with Aces

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante
Leif Force
Leif Force

Leif Force found himself in a good spot with pocket aces pre-flop against pocket jacks. His opponent was at risk but Force barely had him covered so it was critical for his tournament life as well.

The board would provide no jacks as it came {4-}{k-}{10-}{q-}{4-} and Force found himself with a nice boost in chips as his opponent was sent away.

Skrbic Shoves River

Nível 16 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Milos Skrbic raised from midde position to 16,000 and the action folded around to the small blind who made the call, and the big blind got out of the way.

The flop came {k-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and the small blind check-called a bet of 21,000 from Skrbic.

On the {6-Clubs} turn the small blind fired out 30,000 and Skrbic called quickly.

The river was the {a-Hearts}, the small blind fired out a bet of 40,000 and Skrbic moved all-in. The player in the small blind asked for a count and took about two minutes to fold after being told it was 289,000. He then asked Skrbic, "Is there any amount I can pay you to show?"

Skrbic said, "Just tell me what you had."

The opponent said he folded a king and Skrbic tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}.
