Mueller Correctly Hero Calls His Way to Near Chip Lead

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The under-the-gun player opened the action with a raise to 2,500. A three bet of 7,500 came from the small blind. Followed by a call from Brett Mueller in the big blind as well as the original raiser.

All three players saw a flop of {k-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} which the pre-flop three-bettor continued on for 8,000. Mueller called and the other player folded.

The {3-Spades} came on the turn and the small blind went all in for 36,500. After some thought Mueller made the call and got the good news.

Mueller: {9-}{9-}
Opponent: {8-}{8-}

The {4-Clubs} changed nothing on the river and Mueller got to add to his already massive stack.

From Around the Pavilion Room

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Sun Xijie had been spotted with a 220,000 stack in the Pavilion room, and looks to be in great shape to make it through to Day 2 with a healthy stack with 90 minutes left in the day.

A few tables over, Marle Cordeiro is sitting between two feuding players, who are in a disagreement of unknown origin. Floor was called over to give both players a warning, and in the meantime Cordeiro sits at the 65,000 chip mark.

Carlos Diaz, at one time with 270,000, has seen a bite taken out of his stack, but still hangs in with an above average 132,000.

Riley Turns Quads and Gets Paid

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

With 11,000 already in the pot five players put in 6,300 each on a flop of {10-Clubs}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds}.

The turn brought another six {6-Spades}. Action checked to a player in middle potion who fired 25,000 and got called by the player directly to his left. When it was Gerald Riley's turn to act in the big blind he went all in for 137,000. The original turn bettor folded and the other player called off for his remaining 65,000.

Riley: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Spades}{9-Spades}

Riley had quads and was already counting the pot before the {k-Diamonds} river was dealt.

Barill Gets It In Good

Nível 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Alex Barill open raised to 3,000 from the hijack and got three bet by the small blind to 13,000. Barill made the call and the players went heads up to a flop of {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{10-Clubs}. The pre flop aggressor checked it over to Barill who went all in for effectively 45,000. The small blind slid his stack into the middle and both players turned their cards over.

Barill: {k-}{q-}
Opponent: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

Barill was ahead but needed to fade some outs on the turn and river; that was until the {k-} fell on the turn which had his opponent drawing dead. The meaningless {6-} came on the river and Barill scooped up a nice pot.

Muhammad Goes All-In Big

Nível 10 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Facing a 3,300 open, Yusuf Muhammad went as big as one can possibly go, putting in the all-in three-bet to 110,200.

His opponent commented that Muhammad had already raised him too many times before, with this particular raise being the fourth time according to the opponent. After thinking for a couple of minutes, the opponent folded, showing the {a-Spades} before he mucked.

Muhammad claimed to have held pocket fives.
