Eichhardt Eliminated by Margets

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Peter Eichhardt
Peter Eichhardt

Leo Margets and her neighbor Peter Eichhardt came to the {8-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} turn with around 14,000 in the middle. Margets checked and Eichhardt fired 7,000 from the hijack. Margets paused and then slid forward enough chips to cover Eichhardt's total stack, which was just over 30,000.

Eichhardt tanked for two minutes and then pushed his chips forward. He learned that he had a slim chance of staying on the first bullet as his {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} trailed {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}.

Margets' hand held on the {5-Diamonds} river and Eichhardt wished the table good luck before he left the tournament area.

Varnell Caught Bluffing

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Craig Varnell was in the hijack, contesting a heads-up pot against a player in the small blind. They were on the {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} turn when the action was picked up, and both players checked.

The river was the {2-Diamonds} and it got checked to Varnell who fired 12,600 into 16,500. His opponent called and Varnell promptly turned up {j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} for a bluff. The other player showed {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and raked in the pot.

Vornicu Looks into a Set

Nível 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Valentin Vornicu bet 6,500 from the big blind into a pot of about 25,000 with the board showing {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}. His opponent raised to 22,000 from the button and Vornicu flicked in a 25,000-denomination chip, calling.

Vornicu's opponent tabled {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts} in the showdown and Vornicu couldn't beat that, so he dropped to 155,000 or so.

Shalom Gets Max Value from Quads

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

With the action caught on the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop, a player in early position bet 3,200, getting a call from his neighbor before Einav Shalom raised to 9,500 on her button. Only the first player called while the caller escaped.

Shalom faced a 10,000-bet on the {7-Spades} turn and she raised again, making it 24,000. She got called.

The {6-Spades} saw Shalom's opponent lead into the pot again, firing 25,000. Shalom paused for over a minute and then moved all in for 81,100. The other player called but he had no chance with {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} as Shalom had the goods, tabling {k-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} for quads.

Shalom dragged a gigantic pot to vault to 244,500 on the last hand before the table got broken.

Fleischer Scoops Three-Bet Pot

Nível 8 : 400/800, 800 ante

Terry Fleischer (small blind) squeezed to 6,300 over a raise from early position and a call from the cutoff. Only the opener matched Fleischer's bid and they continued heads up to the {8-Spades}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. Fleischer fired 11,000 and his opponent called.

The {8-Hearts} turn saw Fleischer bet 12,000 and the other player figured that it was the right time to waive the white flag.
