Isaacs Traps

Susie Isaacs opened the action to 2,400 and got one caller from a couple of seats over to her left. The two ladies saw a flop and Isaacs checked to her opponent who bet 3,600. Isaacs thought about it for about five seconds and raised to 10,000, which got a prompt fold and she collected the pot.

Bensimhon Folds the Turn

A raise to 300 resulted in three callers and Eyal Bensimhon in the big blind made it 2,500 to go. The initial raiser and one further player called, the third player in the hand folded. On a flop, Bensimhon continued for 3,400 and the initial raiser raised to 10,300, which was called only by Bensimhon.

On the turn, Bensimhon checked and released his cards into the muck when facing a bet of 30,000.

"I still have 50k," Bensimhon shrugged when he spotted the blogger eying his stack.

A Quick Look Through Pavilion

Most tables in the massive Pavilion room are either used for cash game or Day 2 of the Crazy Eights, and most of the Green section and a few select tables in Yellow are used for the Mini Main so far. A queue of more than 100 players is currently waiting for a seat assignment.

Notables in Green include David Moses, Andy Black, Jacques Guenni, Bob Bounahra, Maureen Bloechlinger, and Jeff Sarwer.

Bounahra was involved in a hand that went heads-up to the river and checked, as did the other player involved in the pot. Bounahra was shown and mucked, he is down a few chips since sitting down.

Holm Tells on Petzing

Walking through Miranda room, Mike Holm grabbed the attention of PokerNews to recount a hand he and old friend Jim Petzing were in together a short while before.

It began with an open from Holm, with ace-queen, and another player flat called before Petzing called too. The flop was rainbow and after Holm checked, the player next to act bet 1,000, which Petzing raised to 2,500. This was enough to convince Holm to give up but not the inital better.

Heads up on the turn and it checked to Petzing who bet. His opponent re-raised him before Petzing moved all-in over the top. His opponent open-folded a set of fives, saying that Petzing must have a straight. Petzing obliged showing and joked he was "bored". Nevertheless, Petzing has improved his stack as a result.

Boatman Lets it Go

There was an under the gun open and calls from early position and middle position before Barny Boatman raised it up to 2,600. The initial raiser folded but the other two players called and the flop came down .

There was a check before the player in middle position decided to lead for 3,400. Boatman asked how much he was playing behind (16,000) before deciding that pass was the best option.
