Johnson Survives

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Paul Johnson started the day as one of the shorter stacks and had dropped down in the counts during the first level of play. He got the last of it in preflop and after two calls from David Prociak and Tim Seidensticker, Jeremy Harkin three-bet pot for 358,000. It was enough to get Prociak and Seidensticker to fold and Johnson netted 75% of the pot by the end of the hand, keeping him in contention.

Zinno Zooming

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

With a flop that read {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{8-Hearts} Rafael Caiaffa was deep in the tank considering a bet made by Anthony Zinno. He thought about it for quite a while until clock was called. The floor came over and Caiaffa put himself all in which was called by Zinno.

Caiaffa turned over {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Spades} while Zinno had {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{2-Hearts} the run out was the {9-Spades} and the {9-Clubs} to give Zinno the winning full boat and eliminate Caiaffa while Zinno's stack zoomed up the leaderboard.

Jimenez Takes From Seiken

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Adrian Jimenez just won a decent pot after making the correct call on the river. The completed board read {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Nicholas Seiken had lead for 180,000, which Jimenez tank-called. He turned over trip tens with {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} in the hole and it was good to win him the chips.

Miles Eliminated by Prociak

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

The turn was out, with {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} on display, when Lawrence Miles and David Prociak got it all in.

David Prociak: {a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Laurence Miles: {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Miles was the 2:1 favorite at this point but a {7-Hearts} river gave Prociak the straight for the high hand and ace-deuce for the low.

Sander Eliminated, No Longer the Bubble Boy

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

Yesterday Amit Sander was sweating out his short stack on the money bubble as he recalled his story of how he was the bubble boy earlier this WSOP in Event 4: $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo 8 or Better and was dreading having the same fate in this tournament.

Fortunately for him he more than made the money and survived until today where he was just eliminated in a very respectable top 60 finish amongst some of the biggest names in the game.

Lee Doubles on River

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

On a board reading {2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} Scott Baumstein was considering an all in from Richard Lee, who had bet the remainder of his stack into a pot that totaled 264,000 as confirmed by the dealer. After getting the count he called and turned over {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs} which was ahead of Lee's {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}.

But the river saved Lee when it came the {8-Hearts} to give him the winning flush and secure a vital double of his stack that was counted out to be 354,000.

Everyone Loves a Chop Pot

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante

James Chen and Adrian Jimenez just got it all in on the flop with {4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{7-Spades} on show. Chen check-raised over an 85,000 bet and a call, making it 455,000 and got a call from Jimenez.

James Chen: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Adrian Jimenez: {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}

Chen was a long way ahead for the low hand and Jimenez was the big favorite for the high at this point. Nothing changed on the {q-Diamonds} turn and {7-Diamonds} river and they chopped it up.

Zinno Gets Two Callers

Nível 21 : 8,000/16,000, 0 ante
Anthony Zinno (from Day 2)
Anthony Zinno (from Day 2)

Out of the small blind Anthony Zinno bet 40,000 on a board that read {k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. He received two calls from Danny Woolard in the big blind and from Thomas Schropfer who was in position.

The river came the {10-Hearts}. Zinno led again, this time betting 75,000. Woolard called as did Schropfer. Zinno quickly flipped over the nut flush with {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} which bested both opponents as both mucked their hands, Schropfer shaking his head.
