An exciting day of action in Event #60: $1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better is in the books. At the end of Day 2 a total of 58 players remained out of the 417 who began the day and leading the pack was Matt O’Donnell who bagged the largest stack in the room at 1,388,000. In total five players bagged stacks that eclipsed a million chips as the day came to an end. Those gigantic stacks included James Chen (1,227,000], David Prociak (1,030,000) and Jon Turner (1,008,000).

Also among the 'million club' is Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi who started the day slowly and at one point had as few as 20,000 chips. But his day quickly gained traction as he was seen with a big stack midway through the day. The momentum would not relent as he ended the day third in chips with a stack of 1,196,000. Mizrachi, who already won his fifth WSOP bracelet earlier in the Series, could become the first player to win two WSOP bracelets in the 2019 WSOP if he can outlast 57 more players.

Several big names remaining in the field as play concluded to make up a who’s who of the poker world. Among such luminaries who still remain in the field are; newly-bejeweled bracelet winner Ari Engel who bagged 798,000, fellow WSOP 2019 bracelet winner Scott Clements (769,000), Connor Drinan (671,000), Erik Seidel (497,000), Mike Matusow (328,000) and the defending 2018 bracelet champion of this event, Joey Couden, who has 403,000 chips.

Of course, not everyone was able to find their way through the maze of players, hands and situations as many players were eliminated from the outset. The money bubble took several hands to break and delayed dinner break for about 25 minutes before it finally burst when the field went from 169 to 168. Once the money was reached, several well-known players were sent to the payout line in the first few pay jumps including Jeff Lisandro, Daniel Negreanu, Joseph Cheong and Ben Yu. As play wore on more players were busted with Nick Guagenti, Frank Kassela and middle of the day big stack Abdul Amer being some of the later casualties in the day.

Play will resume on Thursday June 27th at 2 p.m. local time in the Amazon Room. Play will continue at level 21 with blinds at 8,000/16,000 and limits at 16,000 to 56,000. The Pokernews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the Hi/Lo action as the final stages of the tournament commence.

Set Over Set for Laak and Chan

Nível 20 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Phil Laak
Phil Laak

Tim Seidensticker raised to 26,000 and Phil Laak and Rodney Burt called from the hijack and cutoff respectively. Charles Chan was in the big blind and he came along too, making it four-handed to the flop.

On the {2-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{10-Spades} board, there were checks all round and they headed on to the turn. It fell the {4-Diamonds}, bringing a second flush draw and Chan decided to lead for 110,000. Seidensticker passed, Laak moved all in for 216,000 total and Rodney Burt also moved aside before Chan called the rest.

Charles Chan: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Phil Laak: {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{a-Spades}{5-Clubs}

It was a set each but Chan's was the higher and Laak was looking to hit a spade to turn the pot around. The {j-Clubs} river didn't help him and his is left short after paying up. "I got nailed!" said Laak, who is left with seven big blinds.
