Phil Galfond
Phil Galfond

Sasha Liu bet 40,000 from the small blind on a {2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} flop, and Phil Galfond committed his last 30,500 in the big blind. Ryan D'Angelo raised enough to put Liu in for her last 48,000, and Liu ducked out of the way.

Phil Galfond: {9-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Ryan D'Angelo: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}

"Wrap?" D'Angelo said.

Galfond bricked his straight draw on the {6-Clubs} turn and {10-Clubs} river, and D'Angelo scooped in the last of Galfond's chips.

Randall Emmett
Randall Emmett

On a flop of {q-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Randall Emmett and Kahle Burns got into a rasing war and Burns eventually piled in a stack to put Emmett at risk for 131,000 in total.

Randall Emmett: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}
Kahle Burns: {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

The {a-Diamonds} turn improved Emmett to superior two pair and the {3-Hearts} river was a blank.

"Back to the drawing board," Burns added as he cut out the exact chips.

Eyster Triples, Benyamine Falls

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
David Benyamine
David Benyamine

David Benyamine potted it for 88,000 from the big blind after a {6-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop fell, and Mohsin Virani called in middle position, while Kevin Eyster put his last 62,500 in on the button.

Benyamine checked the {q-Diamonds} turn, and Virani bet 20,000, enough to set Benyamine in for his last 14,500. Benyamine called.

Kevin Eyster: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
David Benyamine: {8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Mohsin Virani: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

Eyster managed to dodge the many draws of his opponents when the {6-Diamonds} river filled him up, while Virani took the last of Benyamine's chips in the small side pot.

Burns Scorches Aranda

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Kahle Burns
Kahle Burns

In a battle of the blinds, Kahle Burns and Nicholas Aranda invested 26,000 each to see a {7-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades} flop together. Burns checked over to Aranda, who jammed for 49,000. Burns immediately called.

Nicholas Aranda: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Kahle Burns: {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

Burns had a huge lead with his top set, and he ended up with a full house after the {2-Clubs} turn and {2-Spades} river to felt Aranda.

"He's an animal, an animal!" Randall Emmett said to Burns, who responded with, "There's going to be some banter now that you've arrived."

Hendrix Busts Miller in Big Pot

Nível 13 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Ryan Miller
Ryan Miller

On a flop of {10-Spades}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}, Ryan Miller checked in the big blind and Adam Hendrix on the button made it 40,000 to go. Miller check-raised the pot for 187,500 with some 20,000 behind and that sent Hendrix deep into the think tank.

"I almost checked behind," Hendrix sighed and added, "but it is such a good hand." Another minute passed and Hendrix moved all in, Miller called it off.

Ryan Miller: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Adam Hendrix: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The {2-Clubs} turn changed nothing, however, Hendrix got there on the {9-Hearts} river to score the knockout with two pair.

Seidel Falls To Mezei

Nível 12 : 1,200/2,400, 0 ante
Erik Seidel in previous action
Erik Seidel in previous action

David Benyamine raised to 5,000 from under the gun, and David Mezei called in middle position, as did the cutoff. Erik Seidel three-bet to 10,000 in the big blind, leaving himself 12,400 behind. Benyamine called, and Mezei potted it to 46,200. The cutoff folded, Seidel committed his remaining chips, and Benyamine called as well.

Benyamine checked the {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop, then folded to a bet of 24,000 from Mezei.

Erik Seidel: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}
David Mezei: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}

Mezei's aces and the nut flush draw were well ahead of Seidel's kings, and the {j-Clubs} turn and {q-Hearts} river kept Mezei in front.

"It's a good thing this isn't a re-entry tournament!" Mezei said to Seidel, referencing when Mezei eliminated Seidel from the $25,000 PLO High-Roller and Seidel re-entered and came back to finish in sixth-place for $264,186.

Shack-Harris Off to a Decent Start

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Brandon Shack-Harris
Brandon Shack-Harris

Brandon Shack-Harris started Day 2 with just 20 big blinds but soon chipped up without showdown when he three-bet the pot against Tim Seidensticker. He was then involved in a three-way pot with Chance Kornuth and Raphael Schreiner and by the time the {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} turn showed and Shack-Harris check-raised the pot into a bet of 10,5000 by Schreiner, Kornuth had already folded.

Schreiner eventually called all in and Shack-Harris tabled his {k-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds} for a turned full house.

"Sevens," Schreiner sighed and flipped over {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. The case seven did not come, as a blank {4-Hearts} fell on the river.

"If you guys have that, what did I have?" Kornuth joked.

Astedt and Watson Eliminated By Landherr

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Niklas Astedt
Niklas Astedt

Niklas Astedt bet 26,000 on a {j-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts} flop from middle position, and Mike Watson raised to 104,000 next to act. Jeffrey Landherr then jammed for around 210,000, and after Antonios Rouggeris folded, Astedt called off his last 6,800, and Watson followed suit with his last 56,000.

Niklas Astedt: {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Mike Watson: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Jeffrey Landherr: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}

Landherr's top set was in great shape against his opponent's holdings, but the {4-Hearts} turn gave Watson some help with the nut heart draw. The {4-Clubs} river improved Landherr to a full house, and he netted the double elimination.

Chidwick In, Chidwick Out

Nível 11 : 1,000/2,000, 0 ante
Stephen Chidwick
Stephen Chidwick

Michael Baxter raised to 4,500 from the cutoff, and was called by Martin Zamani on the button, James Mordue in the small blind, and Event #45: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller champ Stephen Chidwick, who was one of the many Day 2 entrants that registered before the start of today's play.

Mordue bet 17,000 on the {10-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{9-Spades} flop, and Chidwick ripped his last 55,500 in. Action folded back to Mordue, who called, having Chidwick barely covered.

"Straight," Chidwick joked.

Stephen Chidwick: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
James Mordue: {a-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

Chidwick's wrap was rendered dead once the {6-Spades} gave Mordue a flush, and after the {2-Diamonds} hit the river, Chidwick took one more munch of his food, then left the table.

Welcome To Day 2 of Event #52: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship

Sasha Liu
Sasha Liu

With one history-making day already in the books, Day 2 of Event #52: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Championship looks to add to those impressive numbers, as registration remains open until the first cards are pitched today at 2 p.m. local time. With 494 entrants already in the field from yesterday's Day 1, a record-setting PLO Championship has already been assured, as last year's 476 entrant field has already been surpassed.

Some big stacks include Mohsin Virani (401,000), Timothy Batow (358,700), Ben Lamb (343,700), and Andrew Loomis (329,300). Of that group, Lamb will be looking for his second bracelet in this event, to go along with the one he took home back in 2011. On the other side of the coin, defending champ Loren Klein was unable to make it through yesterday's Day, ensuring we'll have a new champion.

Sasha Liu (242,300) will be one to watch today, as her chip stack was up and down throughout yesterday, starting with her knockout of 2005 WSOP Main Event champ Joe Hachem. Some other notables that return with chips from yesterday include Ryan Laplante (206,000), Daniel Negreanu (195,400), Connor Drinan (160,500), David Benyamine (160,400), Phil Galfond (147,600), Robert Mizrachi (145,000), Scott Clements (106,000), and Justin Bonomo (70,000).

One player we'll be keeping an out for to enter today is Stephen Chidwick, who finally netted himself a first-ever WSOP gold bracelet by taking down Event #45: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller for $1,618,417. We'll see if he chooses to follow that up by attempting to take down the two largest PLO events at the WSOP back-to-back.

Cards will be in the air at 2 p.m. local time, and PokerNews will be here to capture all the action as we press on towards crowning this year's $10k PLO champion.
