Soverel Takes From Porter

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Sam Soverel in a previous event
Sam Soverel in a previous event

It folded all the way around to small blind Rep Porter and he limped. Big blind Sam Soverel raised to 2,400 and Porter called to see the flop.

The first three cards dealt were {k-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} and Porter checked to Soverel. He continued with a bet only half the size of his preflop raise and he put 1,200 in the middle. Porter checked and he wanted to see another card on the board.

The dealer put the {10-Diamonds} turn card next to the flop and Porter checked again to Soverel. He kept firing and put 7,200 in the middle but that was too much for Porter and he got out of the way.

Laplante Makes A Great Call

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Ryan Laplante from a previous event
Ryan Laplante from a previous event

Ryan Laplante checked a {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{7-Hearts} board from the big blind, and Oleg Eltsov bet enough to put Laplante all in for his last 26,800. Laplante went deep into the tank for four minutes, mumbling to himself at times, and studying the 42,000 already in the pot. He eventually placed calling chips in the pot.

Eltsov turned up {8-Spades}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}, and Laplante rolled over {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} for aces-up and the double.

"Another minute, you would've been clocked," a tablemate told Laplante, who nodded and said, "It would've been reasonable."

Eltsov Bounces Back

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

A preflop raising war resulted in a player in the cutoff getting his last 56,000 chips in the middle, and Oleg Eltsov, who had him covered by just 4,200, called to put him at risk on the button.

Opponent: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{9-Spades}{7-Clubs}
Oleg Eltsov: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

Eltsov's aces got a big scare when the {5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop gave his opponent a flush draw and top pair, and the {6-Diamonds} added more outs with a gutshot. The {j-Spades} bricked off, and Eltsov, who got out of his chair after seeing the flop, sat back down with a sigh of relief and a KO.

Small Pots for Vieira and Epstein

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Joao Vieira in a previous event
Joao Vieira in a previous event

The {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop was already on the board and Sampo Ryynanen checked from the small blind. Joao Vieira sat in the big blind and he bet 1,600. The bet was called by Ryynanen but he check-folded on the {q-Spades} turn when Vieira bet 6,700.

A couple of tables over it was the first and only WSOP Short Deck champion Alex Epstein who won a sizeable pot of Justin Bonomo. There was already over 25,000 in the middle on the {q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Spades} flop when Epstein bet 25,000 after Bonomo had checked to him from the small blind. Bonomo didn't waste any time folding and the pot was pushed to Epstein.

Donabedian Takes the Side, Winter Takes the Main

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Andrew Donabedian
Andrew Donabedian

Sean Winter, Andrew Donabedian, and a third player were just involved in a three-way pot where Winter was at risk of being eliminated. The complete {q-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{a-Hearts} board was on the table and Donabedian had bet 12,000. The third player in the pot tanked for a bit before open folding {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}.

Donabedian showed {j-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and that won him the side pot because Winter had {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{8-Hearts} to win the main pot with a Broadway straight.

Donabedian won Event #25: $600 Pot-Limit Omaha Deepstack earlier in the summer to win his first bracelet and is playing yet another pot-limit Omaha tournament to see if he can add a second bracelet to his collection.

Stinson Wins A Fun One

Nível 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

Chris Hunichen raised to 1,600 from middle position, and Jose Barbero three-bet to 6,000 from the cutoff. Scott Stinson four-bet to 20,000 on the button, and Hunichen tanked before five-betting to 50,000. Barbero called off his last 32,200, and Stinson committed his last 39,500.

Jose Barbero: {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Scott Stinson: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Chris Hunichen: {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Amazingly, the {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop somehow failed to connect with any of the three hands involved, leaving Stinson's ace-high in front. The {k-Spades} on the turn actually ended the hand one card early, as Stinson's kings and sixes were a lock to win before the {j-Clubs} fell on the river.

"Good game guys...I guess?" Barbero said with a shrug before leaving the table.

Minion Jams On Liu

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Sasha Liu checked an {8-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop over to Robert Minion, a self-described cash game grinder from New Jersey, who made a pot-sized bet of 6,200. Liu check-raised to 26,000, which after some initial confusion was reduced down to the maximum pot size of 24,800. Minion came back with a pot-sized raise of his own to 80,600 after a few minutes in the tank.

Liu sat motionless for a few minutes, while Minion, who had just 4,000 behind, waited for her decision. She finally very slightly pushed her cards forward, letting the dealer muck them, and Minion took down the pot.
