Yu Still Going Strong

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Maxim Panyak shipped all in for around 75,000 from under the gun and the Ben Yu called from the cutoff. The rest of the table folded and the cards were on their backs.

Ben Yu: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}
Maxim Panyak: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Yu jumped out front in the coin flip. The {4-Spades} on the turn and the {5-Hearts} on the river changed nothing and Panyak was eliminated just after the dinner break.

Steinman Out-Flushes Nguyen

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On the river of a {9-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} board, three players battled for a 90,000 pot that was about to get larger. The big blind checked, cutoff Truyen Nguyen bet 40,000 and button Ian Steinman raised to 115,000. The big blind folded and Nguyen called after getting a count.

Steinman: {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} the nut non-straight flush

Van Bruggen's Kings Hold in the End

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Preflop, Rick van Bruggen ppen-shoved all-in in the cutoff for 86,000. Over to big blind Ben Yu, who paused before making the call.

Yu: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Van Bruggen: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

Not a peep was heard from either player (or anyone else at the table, for that matter) as Yu spiked his ace on the turn: {6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{a-Diamonds}, nor when the {j-Diamonds} arrived on the river to switch the pot back to van Bruggen with a diamond flush. There was clearly emotion left unexpressed, however: as the pot went to Van Bruggen, Yu said calmly, "Fun run-out," to which van Bruggen responded, just as laconically, "Very exciting."

Wisdom Can't Get Through Marques

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

With around 80,000 in the middle, the dealer fanned the flop of {k-Spades}{j-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Pedro Marques checked from the small blind and Wilbern Hoffman slid out a bet of 45,000. Andrew Wisdom shoved all in for 151,000 on the button and Marques re-shoved all in. Hoffman quickly folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

Pedro Marques: {3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Andrew Wisdom: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

Marques flopped a set of threes but Wisdom had an open-ended straight draw. The {2-Diamonds} on the turn was no help and the {8-Diamonds} on the river barely missed Wisdom, eliminating him from the tournament.

Mezei Flips Reis to the Rail

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Antal Mezei opened to 15,000 in middle position and was called by Dimitar Yosifov and Kristen Bicknell. Carlos Reis was in the big blind and shipped all in for 98,000. That opened the door for Mezei who did the same which forced Yosifov and Bicknell out.

Antal Mezei: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}
Carlos Reis: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

The flop came {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Mezei stayed out front with his pocket jacks. The turn was the {2-Diamonds} and the river was the {4-Hearts} to send Reis to the rail.

Yifrach Shows a Winner

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Gal Yifrach limped in from under the gun and the action folded around to Harald Sammer in the big blind who opted to see a flop. The flop came {k-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Sammer check-called a bet of 12,000 from Yifrach.

The {k-Clubs} paired the board on the turn and both players checked to the {4-Hearts} on the river. Sammer put together a bet of 45,000 and Yifrach quickly called. Yifrach instantly whipped over {3-Spades}{3-Hearts} for a full house and Sammer sent his cards to the muck.

Stephenson Doubles Again

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

In a second-half surge for Michael Stephenson, who returned for day 2 with just 35,000 chips, he has just doubled through Jimmy Kebe to secure an above-average stack for the first time in a while. Preflop, he raised under the gun to 15,000. Permanently-active Baitai Li called, then small blind Kebe went into the tank. He detached a chunk of around 50,000 pink 5,000 chips but when he placed them on the felt announced, "all in." Stephenson called his 137,000 off quickly and Li folded just as fast.

Michael Stephenson: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Jimmy Kebe: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

No overcard or other form of suckout emerged with the {j-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} board and Kebe is now looking at a short stack himself.

Stephenson Busts Kebe in Preflop Déjà vu

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Minutes after the prior hand, Michael Stephenson opened for the same amount preflop, 15,000, from early position. Over to button Baitai Li, who called. Completing the sense of déjà vu, big blind Jimmy Kebe then moved all in. This time it was he who was covered by Stephenson, who rejammed, getting rid of Li.

Stephenson: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Kebe: {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

This time Kebe was a slight favourite, but the board ran out with a queen on it and he exited to collect $7,222 in prize money.

Arieh Making Moves

Nível 17 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Kristen Bicknell raised it up to 13,000 from the cutoff and Josh Arieh three-bet to 35,000 from the small blind. Bicknell called and the two players went heads-up to a flop of {k-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}.

Arieh led out for 32,000 and Bicknell called to see the {8-Hearts} on the turn. Arieh checked this time and Bicknell splashed in a bet of 58,000. Arieh called and the {8-Clubs} paired the board on the river.

Arieh checked again and Bicknell pushed out a bet of 83,000. Arieh went into the tank for a couple of minutes before finally making the call. "You got it," Bicknell said and Arieh tabled {k-Clubs}{2-Clubs} to claim the pot.
