Yu's Bluff Attempt Fails

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Ben Yu opened to 9,000 in middle position and was called by Rick van Bruggen in the big blind. The flop came {8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {a-Diamonds} on the turn.

The action was checked to Yu again and he fired out a bet of 12,000. Van Bruggen called and the {q-Spades} completed the board. Once van Bruggen checked again, Yu tossed in another bet of 20,000 which van Bruggen eventually called. Yu tabled {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} but van Bruggen held {a-Clubs}{9-Clubs} to win the pot.

Radoja Climbing Back

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

After taking a brutal beat with his pocket aces earlier in the day, Mark Radoja has been battling back to earn himself a healthy chip stack again. Sam Cohen raised it up to 9,000 in the hijack and Radoja three-bet to 27,000 on the button. The blinds folded and Cohen called to see a flop of {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{2-Spades}.

Cohen checked to Radoja who continued for 25,000 and Cohen called. The turn brought the {2-Hearts} and Cohen checked again. Radoja slid out another bet of 55,000 and Cohen finally relinquished her cards.

Buzgon Calls Panyak's Bluff

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

On the river, the board reading {4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}, Daniel Buzgon had checked to Maxim Panyak, who bet 34,500 into a pot of around that size. Back to Buzgon, for whom a losing call would mean dropping to around 70,000 chips. After a quiet think, he put in the calling chips.

Panyak: {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}
Buzgon: {9-}{9-}

Buzgon's two pair took the pot, leaving Panyak himself with 15 big blinds.

Cohen Four-Bet Jams to Push Off Sammer and Jacobson

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Martin Jacobson is chatting away (when not in a hand) with the players on Table 438 from which vantage point the corner of the room that features a giant banner of Jacobson behind a pile of money is on full view. He looks a little different to 2014.

"Nice transformation," said Alexandre Mantovani.

"From the average online guy to the Main Event champ," needled a tablemate, to general amusement.

Banter was put on hold as Jacobson opened under the gun for 9,000. Sam Cohen flat called in mid position, and button Harald Sammer three-bet to 32,000. Jacobson asked for a count but progressed no further in the hand. Meanwhile, Cohen snap-jammed when action returned to her, prompting the second preflop aggressor's fold as well.

Steinman Flops a Flush and Eliminates Two

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Adrian Apmann raised it up from early position and was called by Larry Elliott in middle position, Kristen Bicknell on the button, and Ian Steinman in the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} which stirred up a bunch of action between three players.

The action checked to Elliott who tossed in a bet and Bicknell stepped aside. Steinman just called and Apmann shipped all in. Elliott also pushed all in and Steinman was left waiting in the weeds, making the call to cover both of his opponents.

Ian Steinman: {k-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Adrian Apmann: {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Larry Elliott: {10-}{7-}

Steinman nearly had both of his opponents drawing dead and the {5-Hearts} on the turn sealed the deal. The {q-Clubs} on the river was just a formality and both Apmann and Elliott headed to the payout desk.

Deuces Hold for Stephenson

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

British player Michael Stephenson has just been transferred to a new table as yet another broke, dispersing its combatants throughout the Purple Section of the Amazon Room. Down to 11bb with 46,000, he wasted little time getting it in the middle, three-bet shoving from the small blind over a preflop open to 12,000 from Gleb Kovtunov. While Kovtunov considered his options (and his opponent's stack), Stephenson sat perfectly still, hands crossed on the edge of the table in front of him.

Kovtunov made the call to see that his {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} were both overcards to Stephenson's {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}. The all-in player did not need to sweat for long, as the {2-Spades} arrived in the door, followed by {j-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

"You're not supposed to call," Stephenson told Kovtunov, "I'm new to the table!"

Stephenson Doubles Through Finstein

Nível 15 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

It was a battle of the Michaels on Table 443 with Michael Stephenson all in for around 100,000 and Michael Finstein being his opponent.

Michael Stephenson: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Michael Finstein: {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Stephenson held the upper hand with the pocket kings and the flop of {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades} changed none of that. The {5-Diamonds} and {10-Diamonds} runout proved to be safe for Stephenson who scored a double up.
