Boon for Boone

Nível 12 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

A late-stage triple through has given Matthew Boone’s stack a new lease of life as he enters the final level of the day. Action was opened by the under the gun player (raising to 12,000), and two seats along Boone moved all in for his last 67,000. He probably wasn’t expecting to be called in two spots before action returned to the original raiser, but that’s exactly what happened, the first player calling with 380,000 behind and the second with under 100,000.

Flop: {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. The larger stacked side pot player check-folded to the smaller-stacked one’s 45,000 bet, and the latter showed down {k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. The overpair turned out not to be good; Boone turned over {5-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for a flopped set and stayed ahead over the {3-Clubs}{a-Hearts} turn and river.

Claywell Quickly Busts Cada

Nível 12 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Joe Cada was a new entry into the Big 50 after the dinner break, looking to start 2019 with some of his 2018 magic, but on this occasion his run would be short lived.

From early position Cada raised to 10,000, William Claywell three-bet to 31,000 from middle position. Action folded back around to Cada who shoved his remaining stack all in for close to the starting stack of 50,000 which Claywell called.

Cada was looking for an ace or hearts as he turned over the {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts} which trailed the {j-Hearts}{j-Spades} of Claywell. The board remained safe for Claywell when it ran out {5-Spades}{q-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} to secure him the elimination of Cada.

Table 30 Accumulating Chips

Nível 12 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

At the back of the Brasilia room, two stacks on the same table show early chip lead promise rivalling the others in this section of the Big 50 (like Daniel Gamer, who has around 340,000 chips). First is Rick "theclaimeer" Trigg, whose $766,000 in live winnings are dwarfed by his online earnings. A PocketFives yearly PLB winner 2014/15, he has won over $7.5 million on the virtual felt. Currently being massaged, he is sat opposite Max Brown (having moved there from his starting seat) who has 350,000 - the only one at the table who covers him.

Telfea Gray is also at Table 30, with 158,000 in chips, including a pale green 100,000 which must have been introduced during the colour up of the 500 denomination chips.

Hinkle, Kern and Cutler Still Chatting

Nível 11 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Table 513 has been affable and full of banter throughout Day 1d, 13 levels or no 13 levels, and a number of its original occupants are still in their seats. Since our last round in the Amazon room, Hinkle's stack has dropped to 31000 (in three chips) but he's still talking away. Most recently overheard object of discussion with Seat 9: Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

"The previous species wasn't technically a chicken," said Hinkle, arguing emphatically and persuasively for the "egg" side.

Meanwhile, Alan Cutler just busted a player, adding 34,000 to his stack in an all-in preflop confrontation. Cutler's {q-}{k-} out-flopped the {a-}{j-} of his opponent and he joins the elite 200,000+ club in Level 11.

Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Still a long way to go to get to the money for Alex Foxen in the Big 50 event, as he just took his seat after the dinner break, but he is nearing the money in Event #7: $400 WSOP.com Online No Limit Hold-em Event.

Foxen appears to be playing two WSOP events simultaneously with his laptop out at the table as he tries to break the approaching money bubble online while balancing the early stages of the Big 50 offline.
