Shak Takes Out Kelly

Mike Gorodinsky raised and was called by Matthew Kelly and Dan Shak in the big blind.

The flop was and Shak checked to Gorodinsky who bet. Kelly raised, leaving himself with 6,000 behind. Shak called and Gorodinsky called as well.

The turn was the and action checked to Kelly who moved all in for 6,000 and both players just called.

On the river, Shak bet and Gorodinsky thought for a long time before calling. Shak showed for a straight and the nut low.

"Typical hand for me," Kelly said showing for a flopped set that was no good. Gorodinsky mucked and Shak took down the pot, moving back over 100,000.

Mike Matusow limped in from middle position, Tom Koral limped in late position, Lars Gronning completed the small blind and Chris Bjorin checked his option. Gronning led out on with Bjorin being the only caller.

Gronning bet the turn and Bjorin called. On the river, Gronning bet a third time and Bjorin let it go after some thought.

White Takes Some; Pezzin Busts

There was some confusion on a a flop of about whether or not Talon White meant to call or raise against Paul Volpe as he had put out two T-5,000 chips and the floor was called. It was deemed to be a call only and White was reminded to be more careful and verbally announce if he wanted to raise.

One more bet each went in after the turn and the river was checked, White tabled and that ended up as the winner.

In the meantime, Pat Pezzin had been eliminated on a different table after being all in for just 7,000. He could not beat the nut low of Anthony Zinno and the second nut flush of Steven Wolansky.

Eli Elezra opened with a raise and he was called by Iraj Parvizi, Phil Hellmuth on the button, Jonathan Depa in the small blind and Scott Bohlman in the big blind.

The flop was and action checked to Hellmuth who bet. Depa raised and everyone else folded. Hellmuth called.

The turn was the and Depa bet again. Hellmuth picked up his cards immediately and started muttering to himself.

"What are they doing to me," Hellmuth said. "They've been playing this shit all day and I've only raised on two flops."

"I will lay 1000 to 1 that he's folding," Elezra said, laughing.

Eventually, Hellmuth did fold, showing for the second nut low and a pair of kings. After the hand, Depa told Hellmuth that he did in fact have for the nut low and a straight, meaning that Hellmuth made the correct fold.

Mark Gregorich Eliminated

The hand before, Mark Gregorich was left with 8,000 after losing against Steve Chanthabouasy. On a board, Chanthabouasy had bet, Gregorich had called and Felipe Ramos tank-folded. Chanthabouasy showed to leave Gregorich on fumes.

In the subsequent hand, Wayne Diep opened from middle position, Nikolai Yakovenko three-bet on the button, Gregorich called all in from the big blind and Diep called as well.

The flop was and Diep check-called a bet from Yakovenko. On the turn, Diep checked, Yakovenko bet, and Diep folded to bring the hand to showdown.

Costly Misread for Parvizi

With action on a flop of in a three-way pot, action checked around between Iraj Parvizi, Mike Gorodinsky, and Scott Bohlman.

The turn was the and Parvizi checked. Gorodinsky bet and Bohlman thought a while before folding. Parvizi called though.

On the river, Parvizi checked. Gorodinsky bet. Parvizi raised. Gorodinsky raised again and finally Parvizi just called.

"Aces full," Gorodinsky said showing for a full house. Parvizi just had though for trip tens, so Gorodinsky scooped the pot.

"He misread his hand," Eli Elezra explained after the hand. "He asked me if he has to keep raising."

"It's a good thing he didn't keep raising then," Gorodinsky said.

"Mike was worried he had four tens," Elezra said, laughing.

"I'm not gonna lie," Gorodinsky said. "I did get a little scared when he asked how much he can raise."

With that pot, Gorodinsky approaches the 200,000 chip mark.

Viacheslav Zhukov raised in the cutoff and Chris Bjorin called out of the big blind. On the flop, Bjorin checked and called a bet before doing so again on the turn. After the river, Bjorin checked the third street in a row and Zhukov bet, the start-of-the-day chip leader called.

Zhukov turned over the for aces and jacks with a seven-deuce low. Bjorin carefully studied his cards and eventually showed the for the worse two pair. He didn't have a qualifying low and Zhukov scooped the entire pot.
