Phil Hellmuth returns for Day 2

At 2 p.m. local time Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship will see 75 players out of a 161-entry strong field return to the tables of the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas for Day 2 of the first Championship Event of the 2018 World Series of Poker.

Late registration remains open until the cards are back in the air for Level 11 with blinds of 2,000/4,000 and a big bet of 8,000, and the payout information will be finalized after that. A total of five duplicate levels are scheduled for Day 2 with a break every two hours and a dinner break after the third level of the day.

Leading the field into Day 2 is Swedish poker legend Chris Bjorin, who has two WSOP bracelets to his name and bagged up 249,500 last night. Bjorin is followed by fellow two-time champion Jesse Martin (232,000) and Daniel Ratigan (231,000).

Bellande Gets a Fold on the Flop

Nível 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Jean-Robert Bellande raised from under the gun, then next-to-act Matthew Woodward raised, making it two bets. Action folded back to Bellande who called.

The flop was {J-Spades}{J-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Bellande led out with a bet. Woodward raised, then Bellande made it three bets. Woodward thought for a long while before folding his hand.

"I've had a good hand every time," Bellande said revealing his {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for trip jacks.

Obst Takes Half Back

Nível 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

On a flop of {8-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts}, Dustin Dirksen was first to act. He checked to Andrew Yeh who bet. Obst then raised and action was back on Dirksen who called. Yeh then reraised, Obst moved all in for a bit more, and both Dirksen and Yeh called.

The turn was the {J-Spades} and Dirksen check-called a bet from Yeh. Dirksen check-called another bet on the {Q-Clubs} river.

James Obst: {A-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}
Dustin Dirksen: {A-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Andrew Yeh: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Dirksen made two pair for half of the high side pot while Yeh collected the low side pot. Obst then collected half the main pot with a better two pair than Dirksen, and Yeh collected the low main pot.

Katz and Beckman Eliminated

Nível 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

The board was all but rushed away and Cary Katz, who had just entered before the start of Day 2, was sent to the rail after his {7-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}{8-Hearts} was dominated by the straight and low of Daniel Zack.

Only moments later Jason Beckman also departed from a nearby table. The flop showed {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Rafael Concepcion bet out of the big blind. Beckman raised with 3,500 behind and Concepcion made it three bets, Beckman called all in.

"Do you have spades?" Concepcion asked and Beckman shook his head. "I flopped a set," he joked and rolled over {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} for a pair of aces. Concepcion had {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a flush draw and the {9-Hearts} turn and {10-Spades} river run out improved Concepcion to a flush.
