Obst Scoops Benyamine

Nível 11 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
James Obst
James Obst

Carol Fuchs and Marco Johnson have been eliminated. Meanwhile David Benyamine has been left short after a clash with James Obst.

Picking up the action on the {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} turn, Obst bet out of the small blind and Benyamine called in middle position. Obst bet again the {J-Diamonds} on the river and Benyamine called to get shown {A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for a full house by Obst. There was no qualifying low hand and Benyamine sent his cards into the muck.

You Know What Else Has Four Wheels?

Nível 12 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Perry Friedman
Perry Friedman

Catching the action on a flop of {9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs} Jose Paz-Gutirrez was first to act in the small blind. He put out a bet and Perry Friedman called to his right. Mike Matusow called in the cutoff and Robert Stevanovski called on the button.

The turn was the {4-Hearts} and this time Paz-Gutirrez checked and Friedman bet. Matusow called, as did Stevanovski and Paz-Gutirrez.

On the {5-Diamonds} river, all four players checked.

Friedman: {A-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Spades}{J-Spades}
Matusow: {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}
Stevanovski: {A-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Paz-Gutirrez: {A-Hearts}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}

By the turn, only Matusow and Friedman had the wheel, but by the river, all four players made it and each chopped both the high and low pots.

"I don't think I've ever seen a pot where four players all chop everything," Friedman said after the hand.

Dirksen Eliminates McNeil and Obst

Nível 13 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
James Obst
James Obst

With the board reading {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{5-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}, Calen McNeil was already all in and at risk. Sidepot action was brewing between Dustin Dirksen and James Obst, with action on the latter. Obst bet, Dirksen check-raised, and Obst called.

On the {5-Clubs} river, Dirksen bet and Obst called, leaving himself with a mere 1,500 behind.

Dirksen showed {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts} for kings full of fives to win the whole pot, as no low was possible. McNeil showed {A-Spades}{9-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and was eliminated. Obst mucked as well.

Shortly after, Obst lost those final chips to Dirsken as well and headed for the rail too.

"What a Way to Go Out"

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Rafael Concepcion
Rafael Concepcion

In a previous hand, Dylan Linde and Rafael Concepcion had chopped when the former had {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a flush on a board of {6-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}, as Concepcion had the nut low with the {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}.

Then, Concepcion raised first to act. He was called by Linde, Brian Rast on the button, Daniel Alaei in the small blind, and Howell Cheek in the big blind. The flop came {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-Spades} and Alaei checked, Cheek bet, and Concepcion raised. Linde made it three bets and that forced folds by everyone except for Concepcion.

On the {10-Clubs} turn, Concepcion check-called a bet before check-calling all in on the {3-Hearts} river for fewer than a full big bet. Linde showed the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a set of tens and Concepcion shrugged, "What a way to go out, I have a set and the nut flush draw," before showing his inferior {A-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}.

At the same time, Ben Yu departed from a different table to reduce the field further.

Wolansky Three-Quarters Zinno, Rails Benyamine

Nível 14 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
David Benyamine
David Benyamine

With the board reading {7-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{J-Hearts} and already substantial action earlier, David Benyamine put his final big bet in and Anthony Zinno made it two bets from the cutoff. Steven Wolansky instantly called on the button to build the side pot.

On the {6-Hearts} river, Zinno bet, Wolansky raised, and Zinno unhappily called it off.

David Benyamine: {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Anthony Zinno: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Steven Wolansky: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}

Wolansky took the high with the nut flush, and he and Zinno chopped the low with an ace-deuce. Benyamine came up short and headed for the rail near the end of Level 14.

Schulman Busts to Zinno's Quads

Nível 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Down to a mere one and a half big bets, Nick Schulman raised from the cutoff and Andrew Kelsall in the small blind made it three bets. Anthony Zinno called in the big blind and Schulman called all in.

The flop fell {K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and both remaining active players checked. On the {6-Hearts} turn, Kelsall bet and Zinno raised, which resulted in a call. After the {2-Hearts} river, Kelsall checked and faced a bet by Zinno to reluctantly fold with his head shaking.

Zinno flipped over the {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{2-Clubs} for quad deuces as effective nuts and Schulman tossed his cards into the muck before heading to the rail.

Shak Takes Three Quarters of a Monster Pot

Nível 15 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

Matthew Kelly limped in and Jonathan Depa raised. Dan Shak called before Ben Landowski raised to three bets from the blinds. Kelly, Depa, and Shak all called, making it four-way action to a flop.

On the {7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, action checked to Kelly who bet. Depa called and Shak raised. Landowski folded while both other players called.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and action checked to Shak who bet and was called twice. Action checked to Shak again on the {6-Diamonds} river and bet once more and was called twice.

"I have nut-nut, but I think I'm getting three quarters only," Shak said, showing {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for nut-nut. Depa had {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Spades}{J-Spades} which would earn him half of the low pot and Kelly could only show {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} for two sets, both of which were no good. Shak took down the majority of the pot, boosting him to right around 200,000 chips.

Mark Gregorich Eliminated

Mark Gregorich
Mark Gregorich

The hand before, Mark Gregorich was left with 8,000 after losing against Steve Chanthabouasy. On a {7-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Clubs} board, Chanthabouasy had bet, Gregorich had called and Felipe Ramos tank-folded. Chanthabouasy showed {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} to leave Gregorich on fumes.

In the subsequent hand, Wayne Diep opened from middle position, Nikolai Yakovenko three-bet on the button, Gregorich called all in from the big blind and Diep called as well.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and Diep check-called a bet from Yakovenko. On the {2-Hearts} turn, Diep checked, Yakovenko bet, and Diep folded to bring the hand to showdown.

Mark Gregorich: {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Nikolai Yakovenko: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}

"You got a low?" Yakovenko inquired shortly before the cards were tabled. Gregorich needed a king or trey if he was to survive, but the river was the {4-Diamonds} to make him the 43rd place finisher.

Hellmuth Eliminated by Elezra

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth lost a huge pot just before this hand and was left with right around 40,000.

Catching the action on the flop of {Q-Clubs}{J-Spades}{J-Hearts} action checked around to Hellmuth who bet. Eli Elezra raised and Ben Landowski folded. Helmuth then re-raised and the two players continued raising until all the money got in the middle.

"I have ace-jack buddy, if you have queens then nice hand," Elezra said.

"Jack is good," Hellmuth said.

Eli Elezra: {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Phil Hellmuth: {K-Clubs}{K-Spades}{4-Spades}{8-Spades}

The {J-Clubs} came on the turn, ending matters quickly as Elezra made quads and the river was the {Q-Diamonds} which changed nothing. Elezra got up from the table and shook hands with Hellmuth who stood up from the table very frustratedly.

"Every fuckin' day they do this to me," Hellmuth said as he walked away from the table.
