Pursley At the Top

Nível 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante

The stacks are growing and changing quickly and James Pursley appears to be the current chip leader, while some of the other players are taking their stacks on a roller coaster ride.

Peter Eichhardt was denied a double with {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} against the {A-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} of John Jenkins on a board of {Q-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}, before doubling up his short stack right after.

Roth Up and Down

Nível 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Christopher Roth
Christopher Roth

After three-way preflop action, Christopher Roth was left with not even a small bet and got it in on a {Q-Spades}{9-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop. William Kopp was also all-in for slightly more and Victor Ramdin called to put both players at risk.

Christopher Roth: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}
William Kopp: {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}
Victor Ramdin: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}

"Jack!" yelled Roth as he stood up. His wish got granted as the dealer slapped the {J-Spades} on the felt to improve Roth to a straight. The river was the {3-Spades} and Roth took the main pot, while Kopp walked away with the side pot.

The hand after, Roth raised on the button, Julien Martini three-bet from the big blind and Roth called. Martini bet the {J-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{5-Clubs} flop and {10-Spades} turn, which Roth called twice. Both players checked the {7-Clubs} on the river.

Martini showed {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for aces and tens and Roth yelled some explicit language before flinging {A-}{K-}{K-}{X-} in the muck.

Witteles Busts in Three-Way Pot

Nível 19 : 3,000/6,000, 0 ante
Todd Witteles
Todd Witteles

Brian Haack raised and Todd Witteles called all in from the cutoff, Jermaine Reid called in the big blind. "This might be it for me," Wittles said and saw the flop come {J-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Reid bet, Haack raised and Reid called.

The {4-Spades} turn went check, check, and Reid bet the {2-Hearts} river, then called a raise by Haack.

Haack turned over {A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}, Witteles had the {Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Reid tabled {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. Reid claimed the high portion of the pot with the nut flush and Haack the low portion with the wheel, Witteles was sent to the rail.

Last Break of the Night

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

The field has been whittled down to just 59 players and they have been sent into the final 15-minute break of the day. Two more levels will be played and the T-500 chips are raced off, as they are no longer required for the remainder of the tournament.

Updated Counts for Level 18

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

As the players near the final break of the day, here's an assortment of chip counts from the field.

Late Casualties in Level 18

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

Darek Raymona and Dan Matsuzuki departed within a few minutes apart from each other and they were followed by Jonathan Cohen and Dennis Tymchak. In the final hand of the level, Olaf Arneson also ran out of chips to reduce the field to the last 59 hopefuls.

Glaser Eliminated by Sanehisa

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

Soon after he was left with crumbs in a big pot against Shaun Deeb, Benny Glaser defended his big blind against the cutoff raise by Rylen Sanehisa. Glaser bet the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and then moved all in after the {Q-Diamonds} turn, Sanehisa called.

Benny Glaser: {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Clubs} for a set of fives and a low draw
Rylen Sanehisa: {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for top pair, straight draw and nut low draw

"Low cards please," Sanehisa demanded and got his wish granted as the {4-Hearts} on the river improved Sanehisa to the wheel and sent the 2016 champion of this very event to the rail.

Deeb Decimates Glaser

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Benny Glaser
Benny Glaser

With the board reading {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}, Benny Glaser bet, Shaun Deeb put in two bets on the button, and Glaser tanked for a while before calling. On the {5-Spades} river, Glaser checked and this time, snap-called a bet from Deeb.

Deeb rolled over {A-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for the whole world and Glaser mucked with a grimace. The Brit was left with a mere 6,000.

In the next hand, Glaser chopped an all-in against Mike Leah, then raised the subsequent hand where he picked up the blinds.

Action-Loaded Table and Ramdin's Promise

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante

"I will have 282,000 or gonna bust soon," Victor Ramdin announced in table chat before raising it up from the cutoff. Christopher Roth on he button made it three bets and Julien Martini in the big blind four-bet. "What is the limit?" Ramdin asked and verified that he could put in one more raise, which he did, and picked up two callers.

On the {A-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Spades} flop, Martini checked and Ramdin bet. Roth called all in for 5,000 and Martini called. The Frenchman then proceeded to check-call bets by Ramdin on the {10-Spades} turn and {K-Spades} river.

Martini showed {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for a flush and a low while Ramdin had {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades} for two pair and the nut low. "When they are done with the side pot, I have the nut flush," Roth said and waited for the chips to be sorted before claiming the main high pot with {A-Spades}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.
