Which 10 Players Will Make the Final Table of Event #39: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout?

Martin Jacobson
Martin Jacobson

Event #39: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout resumes at 12 noon today, with 100 players returning to 10 tables. Each of those 100 was the last person standing on his or her respective table yesterday, and it will be the aim of all of them to repeat that feat again today. At the end of today, there will be 10 winners, one from each table, who will go through to the final table tomorrow.

Day 1 attracted 908 runners who took seats across 100 tables. A $1,225,800 prize pool was generated and first place will collect $236,498. Everyone starting Day 2 has already secured at least $5,227, but that prize money will increase again for the 10 left standing at the end of play. There will be at least $15,180 in the bag for all those who make it through to Day 3.

There are several well-known names still in contention. These include reigning WSOP Main Event Champion Scott Blumstein who will be sharing table space with two-time bracelet winner Steven Wolansky and one-time bracelet winner Artur Rudziankov. Last year's runner-up in this event, Thomas Boivin, has Russell Thomas, Conor Drinan, and Alexandru Masek keeping him company at his table.

Multiple-bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth will be trying to beat the other players on his table like Thomas Taylor, Alexander Lakhov, and Rep Porter. Meanwhile 888Poker Ambassador and 2014 Main Event Champion Martin Jacobson will have bracelet winners Philip Tom and Justin Liberto, Shannon Shorr, and Tim Burt to contend with at his table.

Make sure to follow all of the updates as the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to bring you all the winners of each table and the action that comes with it.

Schwarmann Out First

Nível 16 : 400/800, 100 ante
Andrew Sandomire
Andrew Sandomire

On Table #417, Vlad Darie raised to 1,400 from mid-position and was called by Martin Zamani (late position), Aaron Henderson (hijack), Anthony Reategui (cutoff), and Nick Schwarmann (button). Andrew Sandomire, sitting in the big blind, then three-bet to 6,700. Darie, Zamani, Henderson, Reategui all called. But Schwarmann tanked for a while and then decided to shove for almost 100 big blinds in total. Sandomire called and the rest all folded.

Nick Schwarmann: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}
Andrew Sandomire: {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}

The flop came {10-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades} to give Schwarmann a straight draw to survive as he was covered by Sandomire. The turn brought them the {9-Diamonds} so Schwarmann still needed an eight or seven not to be eliminated. The river completed the board with the {10-Hearts} which was not one of the cards Schwarmann needed, and he was the first player eliminated from his table today.

Taylor Takes Porter Out

Nível 17 : 500/1,000, 100 ante
Thomas Taylor
Thomas Taylor

Rep Porter has just come unstuck and it was in a hand involving Thomas Taylor and Phil Hellmuth.

According to Taylor, Hellmuth had opened the betting preflop, making it 2,500 and got two calls from Taylor behind and from Porter in the small blind.

The flop came {6-}{6-}{3-} and Porter checked. Hellmuth continued for 5,500 and Taylor flat-called. With the action back on Porter, he upped it to 17,000 and that was enough to push out Hellmuth but not Taylor, who moved all in over the top and Porter called.

Rep Porter: {8-}{8-}
Thomas Taylor: {9-}{9-}

The turn and river bricked for Porter, and he was out.

Double Up for Hellmuth

Nível 19 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth had been the short stack for a while but after the last hand, he is not anymore. After a 3,500 open from Nikolai Sears, James Worth, Phil Hellmuth and Jack Shea all came along to see a flop.

The dealer put out {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds} and it was checked all round. It was the {a-Spades} turned that generated the action though. After three checks, Hellmuth put 7,000 over the line and Shea upped it to 17,000. This got everyone else out of the way and Hellmuth moved all-in for just 8,400 more. It was a snap-call from Shea and they turned their cards on their backs.

Phil Hellmuth: {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Jack Shea: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}

There were just two outs to pull this one back for Shea and but the {9-Hearts} river was safe for Hellmuth and he collected. This left Shea the shortest at the table.

Buck Downed by Lakhov

Nível 20 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Alexander Lakhov
Alexander Lakhov

Dana Buck started things off with a cutoff open to 4,500. Lakhov was the only player who showed any interest, raising it up to 17,000. With the action back on Buck, he four-bet to 104,000 and was snap-called by Lakhov.

Alexander Lakhov {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Dana Buck {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}

Buck was the one who's tournament life was on the line and he needed some help to stay in the game.

The {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds} flop showed an ace in the window but it also made a set for Lakhov. On to the {j-Hearts} turn and there was a little hope as it gave Buck two pair and there were two aces that could save him.

Unfortunately, the {8-Clubs} river was not what he needed and Buck had to make his way to the exit in 5th place. That leaves four players remaining.

Burstein Eliminates Milisits

Nível 21 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Vladimir Burstein
Vladimir Burstein

Vladimir Burstein put in his whole stack of yellow 1,000-value chips on the button, worth about 30,000 and Ryan Milisits shoved all in for about the same. Alexandre Reard, sitting in the big blind, quickly folded.

Ryan Milisits: {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Vladimir Burstein: {A-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{3-Spades}{a-Clubs}, even though Milisits hit a ten on the flop, the ace on the river meant Burstein ended up with the higher pair to eliminate Milisits from the tournament.

Scott Blumstein

Scott Blumstein was all-in from the big blind when Jonathan Cohen had called after his initial raise.

Scott Blumstein: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Jonathan Cohen: {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {6-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}, no help for Blumstein as he was eliminated. The friendly reigning WSOP Main Event Champion shook everyone's hand and made his way to the payout desk to collect his cash for his efforts.

Cooler for Hellmuth

Nível 23 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Just minutes ago, things were looking great for Phil Hellmuth. He had just won a pot against Alexander Lakhov with {2-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and had held firm against betting on multiple streets on an {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} board.

He barely had time to enjoy those chips before he found himself on the dark side of a cooler against table shortie James Worth.

Playing only three-handed, it was no surprise to see all the chips fly into the middle preflop and Worth was the massive favorite when the cards were turned on their backs.

James Worth {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Phil Hellmuth {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

The {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop brought a gutshot for the wheel straight, which would chop the pot. The turn was a {7-Diamonds} and it added another four straight outs to chop. The {8-Diamonds} didn't get there for Hellmuth and he had to count out 101,000 chips to pass to Worth.

Reategui Reaches Another Shootout Final Table

Nível 24 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Anthony Reategui
Anthony Reategui

In the very first hand after the dinner break, James Sileo shoved all in for 93,000 on the button and Anthony Reategui called.

James Sileo: {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}
Anthony Reategui: {A-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{a-Spades} to give Reategui a full house in the end to eliminate Sileo. Reategui's table is the first to finish today. Reategui already reached the final table of the $3,000 Shootout a few weeks back and finished in eighth place. He'll be looking to better that result.
