Norman Chad
Norman Chad

Three players saw fifth street with Norman Chad and one other player showing three to a low while a third player looked to be working on a high hand. Chad raised a bet from the player on his right and the player working on a high hand cold-called.

Seat 2: {x-}{x-}/{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{a-Clubs}{5-}
Chad: {x-}{x-}/{6-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}
Seat 6: {x-}{x-}/{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}

When the player in Seat 6 got four to a straight, action checked to her and she bet. The others called and another bet went in on the end, led by the player with four to a straight. She showed {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for eights full, while Chad had {3-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a wheel.

Miami John Falls Behind on Seventh

Nível 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

A player with the {2-Diamonds} was the bring-in. Another player called with the {Q-Hearts} while one called with the {7-Hearts} before John Cernuto completed with his {A-Spades}. All three opponents called.

John Cernuto: {x-}{x-}/{A-Spades}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}/{x-}
Opponent 1: {x-}{x-}/{Q-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}/{x-}
Opponent 2: {x-}{x-}/{2-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{9-Clubs} — folded on fifth
Opponent 3: {x-}{x-}/{7-Hearts}{2-Spades} — folded on fourth

John Cernuto led with a bet on fourth, which picked up two calls and earned one fold. On fifth, Cernuto bet again and was called by just one player this time. Cernuto bet again on sixth and was called. Then on seventh, both players checked.

Cernuto's opponent showed down {Q-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} for two pair.

"I was drawing to diamonds," he said, which prompted a sigh from Cernuto.

"I got aces," Cernuto said, but he only showed his {6-Hearts}, implying that he had outs to a low or a straight as well. With that, the pot was pushed the way of Cernuto's opponent and Cernuto dropped under the starting stack.

Ron Ware & Mike Ross
Ron Ware & Mike Ross

Last year at the World Series of Poker, local grinder Ron Ware emerged atop a field of 472 to win his first bracelet in Event #21: $1,500 8-Game.

To do so, he had to get through Mike Ross in a back-and-forth heads-up battle. Lo and behold, those two are seated next to each other once again in this very tournament. They're in Seat 7 and Seat 8 at Table 451. According to Ross, Ware let him have the first pot they played against each other to make up for taking away the bracelet.

Greenstein Takes an Early Scoop

Nível 1 : 100/200, 0 ante

Barry Greenstein: {x-}{x-}/{5-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}/{x-}
Opponent 1: {x-}{x-}/{5-Spades}{K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{A-Hearts}/{x-}
Opponent 2: {x-}{x-}/{K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}/{x-}

Picking up the action on fifth street, the player who drew the {9-Clubs} led out with the betting lead. Greenstein called as did the other opponent. On sixth street, Greenstein picked up the lead, but checked and called a bet from the player with the {A-Hearts} on sixth. The other player called too.

On seventh street, Greenstein led out and both of his opponents called. Greenstein showed {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for three fives but no low, but his opponents couldn't produce anything better, so he scooped the entire pot early here on Day 1.
