Event #11: $365 PLO GIANT Pot-Limit Omaha
Dia 1a Concluído
The first of five starting flights of the inaugural PLO GIANT kicked off Sunday evening at the 2018 World Series of Poker and drew a total of 423 entries, but just 19 players were left standing at the conclusion of Day 1a play. After 21 levels, Pete Arroyos is leading the way with a stack of 1,757,000.
Arroyos is already certain to have some tough competition on Day 2 since Dzmitry Urbanovich (1,246,000) and bracelet winner Leif Force (1,082,000) both bagged sizeable stacks. Jason Mayer also scored a spot in the million-plus club after ending the day with 1,163,000, and behind him, Daniel Turklay (721,000) bagged the next largest stack. Alongside the chip leaders, Aleksey Filatov (624,000) and former November Niner Jeremy Ausmus (181,000) also advanced to Day 2.
Quite a few of the more well-known players who took to the felt in this flight left empty-handed, including Scott Davies, Steve Zolotow, Joey Ingram, Rep Porter, and Barry Greenstein. But since there are still four more starting flights to be played, each featuring unlimited re-entry, plenty more opportunities to amass a stack are on the way.
The money bubble broke without hand-for-hand play since multiple players busted during the hand it was reached. A full list of the Day 1a payouts can be found here.

Dzmitry Urbanovich opened to 50,000 from the hijack and the player in the small blind announced that he was all-in. However, the maximum legal three-bet amount was 174,000, and the small blind had 50,000 remaining in his stack after committing the chips. Urbanovich called and the small blind jammed in the dark.
After the flop fell Urbanovich called to put his opponent at risk.
Dzmitry Urbanovich:
Small blind:
The small blind had the lead and Urbanovich needed help from the deck to knock him out. The river gave Urbanovich some additional straight outs, and the
river was one of them, so Urbanovich took the pot to send his opponent to the cage.

When we arrived at the table, Wesley Samson had already jammed from the button for 101,000 and had picked up four preflop callers, including Karl Akers in the small blind and Aleksey Filatov, who was under the gun.
The flop came and after some consideration, Akers shoved for 316,000. Filatov went into the tank for about half a minute before he folded and the fourth player quickly followed suit.
Wesley Samson:
Karl Akers:
Samson was ahead with his overpair and Akers needed to improve in order to win the pot. Although Samson retained his lead on the turn, the
fell on the river to give Akers trip queens, so he took the pot to send Samson to the cage.

A player limped in from middle position, Jeremy Ausmus called from the small, and the big blind checked his option.
The flop came and the blinds both checked. The middle-position player bet 30,000, Ausmus called, and the big blind jammed for what looked like 81,000. The middle-position player folded and Ausmus called to put the big blind at risk.
Jeremy Ausmus:
Big blind:
Ausmus had flopped a pair and a wrap but needed help from the deck to beat his opponent's two pair. The on the turn gave the big blind kings full, leaving Ausmus drawing dead, so after the
fell on the river, the dealer pushed the pot to the big blind.
