Davies and Brenes Bust

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We missed the elimination of Scott Davies, just prior to this his table also lost another big name in Humberto Brenes. The Costa Rican lost the coin flip with {A-}{K-} against the pocket jacks of Damian Salas in a potential world cup semi final duel.

A jack showed up right in the window and killed all hopes of a double up. Salas is back on track and so is Benjamin Sinclair.

Shulman Doubles

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A player raised to 4,200 from under the gun and a player called from right behind. Barry Shulman moved all in from the button for 31,700. The original raiser thought for a moment and then moved all in himself. The other opponent got out of the way and Shulman figured aloud that he at least had "two live cards," tabling the {2-Spades}{5-Spades} versus the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} of his opponent.

His live cards got some serious breath on the {a-Spades}{2-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop and the board completed {6-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Shulman's babies were good for the double.

Wilkerson Looks at One

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Dylan Wilkerson was short-stacked, looked at his first card, and announced all in. He was called by a player in late position with {q-}{j-} and Wilkerson flipped over {k-}{k-} at the awe of the rest of his table mates. He scored the double up after the board bricked out.

Big Call By Swidler

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

As we approached the table and began counting Carter Swidler's stack. Looked to be about 198,000 as he tossed out an orange chip announcing a raise to 5,000 from the small blind.

The player in the big blind called and both checked a {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop. The {j-Clubs} fell on the turn and Swidler led for 4,200 and his opponent called.

The river brought the {a-Diamonds}, Swidler bet 7,500, and his opponent raised to 22,000. Swidler went into the tank for about a minute before making the call. His opponent tabled {8-}{6-} for a failed bluff and Swidler turned over {j-Spades}{7-Clubs} to claim the pot.

Annette Obrestad

Annette Obrestad opened to 4,000 from early position and got two callers in late position. The flop was {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Obrestad continued for 7,300. One opponent called to see the {5-Spades} fall on the turn. Obrestad bet 12,200 and her opponent called.

The river was the {8-Diamonds} and Obrestad moved all in for 26,000. Her opponent quickly called and tabled {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the rivered straight, but Obrestad had flopped the nuts and her {q-Hearts}{k-Spades} was good for the higher straight.

Bilokur Out, Dubinskyy In

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Over on table 442, the nine seat is still occupied by a player from Russia but it is not Alex Bilokur anymore. According to a player on the table, he tried to bluff an opponent who held the nut flush. His seat was not left empty for long as now Igor Dubinskyy has sat down in the same spot.

Kamutzki Keeps on Swinging

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

We missed the action until the {J-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} river but Heinz Kamutzki bet 12,500 and got a reluctant call from an opponent. The German announced straight and turned over {K-Hearts}{Q-Spades}, the opponent mucked.

Polychronopoulos Done

Nível 14 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Athanasios Polychronopoulos was all in for 28,100 chips with {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and got a reluctant call by Matt Woodward with {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. The {9-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop seemed perfect for the double up but the {7-Hearts} turn saw him in the need of an eight or king. The {J-Clubs} river didn't improve his hand enough and Polychronopoulos headed to the payout desk.
